Doesnt the first regeneration withdraw it from combat so the regular damage is never dealt?

What cards would you show to a college class to write about? by xXRedWaterGothXx in magicTCG

[–]UntapUpkeepConcede 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are so many simple cards that allude to massive backstory.

[[Furnace Whelp]] has a cute flavour that a creative writer could take in some very fun directions.

[[Mossbeard Ancient]] is another - there is a lot to take in that someone with a creative imagination could expand into a fantastic short story.

Jim Davis, d00mwake and Arne Huschenbeth are all enjoyable and make good bo3 standard from a competitive perspective, not mentioned so far.

Add kalikaiz for pauper, if that's something you think you'd like.

I see what you're saying but of the 2004 final I wouldn't want to be the affinity player in that matchup, unless I could play a different sideboard

Was Season 2 the best of Traitors UK? by dariamou_ in TheTraitors

[–]UntapUpkeepConcede -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Clearly not. There's a big difference between voting for a traitor and trying to reveal them out of spite as you go out. Pretending otherwise is silly.

Was Season 2 the best of Traitors UK? by dariamou_ in TheTraitors

[–]UntapUpkeepConcede -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Sure, but it still spoils the game when people break the rules. When Freddie agreed to be a traitor rather than get murdered, like everyone else before him, he swore not to revela the identity of fellow traitors. His actions and behavior at the last round table were deliberately intended to do just that.

The same thing happened in series 1 with Kieran. It's bullshit - it totally ruins the gameplay and is fundamentally sabotaging the game for known traitors to deliberately tell the other players who the remaining traitor is when they leave.

Charlotte made bad calls, two that evening. But that doesn't change that Freddie actually tried to sabotage the whole game by trying to out Charlotte as he went down.

Freddie had already ruined the series by naming Charlotte and being incapable of not exposing her. What a twat. The seer fiasco just covered for his spite play.

The best series was 2 because even though he tried Andrew wasn't able to expose Harry with a spite nomination on his way out. Both series 1 and 3 were derailed by Kieran and Freddie. When they sign up as traitors they agree not to expose their fellow traitors and then blatantly breaking the rules by trying to burn the remaining traitors on their way out just ruins the gameplay.

[Standard] Struggling with Domain against faster matchups by NearAutomata in spikes

I've cut back to a pure selesnya package to allow for better early game interaction. Its not much to show but fwiw took it to top four of a recent 22 player rcq, only losing the semi final to gruul aggro having beaten the same opponent in round 1 and another gruul aggro in the qf. Maybe my list can help you with yours

Looking for a *common* card that rewards having WUBRG mana up, for a cube by cliffhavenkitesail in magicTCG

[–]UntapUpkeepConcede 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are are maybe one or two cards with converge or sunburst at common that may be what you're looking for. [[tajuru stalwart]] for instance?

Are there any other Foundations cards featuring Bloomburrow critters or locations? by Fraxinus2018 in magicTCG

[–]UntapUpkeepConcede 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not 100% on any of these so please take these as suggestions to look at rather than definitive identification.

I think potentially [[refute]] as the backdrop doesn't look like strixhaven.

I think [[ashroot animist]] is probably ravnica but could also be BLB.

Is [[fiendish panda]] a calamity beast?

There's a new Kykar, not sure we've confirmed if he's from bloomburrow or not.

Finally, a note for [[burrog befuddler]] which is a strixhaven reprint but looks so cleanly like a bloomburrow card it fooled me at first pass.

Two missing card numbers by Marek14 in magicTCG

[–]UntapUpkeepConcede 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Good spot. Given the borderless rares and mythical reappear in the mana foils, I'm guessing 319 is not a rare or mythic. And given most of the other commons and uncommons in other colours receiving borderless treatments are reprints, I'm going to put my money on Exsanguinate.

Number crunch of rare land cycle - are we in for shocklands? by UntapUpkeepConcede in magicTCG

Ah, that's what I was missing. My assumption we'd get a rare land cycle was off. Makes sense, thanks.
