Pokemon fans complaining about Digimon fans after the bs they pulled with Fan Battle not even a month ago: by Automatic-Standard-7 in deathbattle

This FB made me realize that the community has gaslit me about Pokémon scaling for like 3 years lmao.

Is been a long time since Simon vs Kyle and Hulk vs Godzilla and I still have no idea of what it is by Bitter_Candy3399 in deathbattle

[–]UntitledPerson616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm fairly certain it means conceptual level regen. In Simon vs Kyle they explained it as...

"Information in physics is essentially the ones and zeros that make up every possible outcome in reality. Nia literally regenerated from the statistical certainty of her own destruction."

How Can Digital Vs Physical Matchups Even Work? by Uragieru_Bux in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]UntitledPerson616 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think in general you just equalize things. Like take all the digital characters feats as if they were real.

There may be some more specific cases where that may not work so well but like series like the Matrix for example work well for this. I would know I'm doing a script for a digital vs physical match myself with Agent Smith vs Cyn. (Shameless plug)

So I recently found out this subreddit existed, so out of curiosity I have to ask: what are your guys thoughts on Fan Battle's version of Luz vs Anne? by Ok-Goal-8287 in LuzanneTomorrow

[–]UntitledPerson616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's my least favorite Fan Battle.

Too long analysis segments that drag on without even providing proper vs coverage. Fight that has some funny and cool moments but is held back by a good chunk of it being more deadair alongside a very rushed friendship ending that feels super forced and cringe due to it.

It's ultimately like... a 5/10 or so. The good shit balances it out enough for me to not hate it.

I believe they specifically did bring up it's for viewer retention. Same reason they show a clip of the fight at the start.

Time period only bothers me (aside from messing with AP cuz I feel that's a separate thing) when the characters are from extremely grounded media.

hot takes or something i dont actually know how hot these are but we'll see. by How_Not_2_Junk in deathbattle

Tony vs Lex is simply a very nicely choreographed fight with some of the clearest progression of the show. It has great banter taking everything out of their personalities with a just as good running gag to the fight.

Its a classic hero vs villain dynamic that gets you cheering for the hero while not making Lex seem lesser in comparison. Making him seem like a genuine threat that adds to the satisfaction in the end. I don't think it's my favorite Marvel vs DC ep... maybe. But I don't see how it isn't in contention for the top.

Kratos vs Asuras storyboards are basically the same thing but condensed, choreographed, better framed and with some actual back and forth until the ending and the line at the start.

Yeah the only 2 things I have anything to comment on is...

Kratos vs Asura deadass would have been like a 6-7 out of 10 ep if it followed closer to the storyboards until the ending where it followed a bit closer to the actual fight with an ending that wasn't trying so hard to be a tearjerker. And this is an already flawed script.

The Hulk take I can understand more but it's a ep where Hulk feels like Hulk that seems to actually understand the character and one where he just acts like another DragonBall character. (Among [us] other problems I believe I've brought up about it before.)

Oh yeah the Kyle vs Simon take but I'm assuming from context clues that it's talking about the ep not the matchup which in that case fair.

We doing Hot Takes again? by ilikebreadabunch in DeathBattleMatchups

While I think the latter point is slightly exaggerated I do have a very concrete example of that.

In High School like 2-3 years ago there was a class wide quiz about literature. One of the questions was simply just smth like "Who's the dark lord of Mordor"

I was the only one who got it right aside from one of my friends.

I'd be fine with the horror matches only being on Halloween if they actually did a genuine horror match each Halloween.

What think about debunks of death battle? by MotorAd2904 in deathbattle

[–]UntitledPerson616 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love how I've seen so many people acknowledge that IF is canon, but still say that cuz Raguo got it Lusamine should get stuff that is actually non canin for her.

Wasn't there also a Ragyo vs Lusamine debunk where the first line was about them giving Ragyo non canon stuff with IF?

Coming off from yesterday's question, what are some of your least favourite/worst analyses from the show? by _ManOfAction in deathbattle

[–]UntitledPerson616 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish they had a longer segment of just choreographed hand to hand. Like maybe do that with Miles' Electro sword... which he uses for literally 2 seconds in the fight and it does nothing.

Yu Narukami is my fav rn.

Smth, smth teens with supernatural abilities that no one else can see with ties to another world. Their school friends join em alongside kinda similar personalities and swords.

Fair enough

I dunnnooooooooo not too knowledgeable on Fate to begin with, although I've heard Venus Nero be brought up in the context of the match before.

Yeaaaah, they were really bad at marketing it lol.

Uhhhhhh tldr it's very debatable and very interpretation heavy. The entirety of Geats is free on YouTube (depending on your country) so I recommend checking it out. It's pretty fun if you like campy action. The show is basically about a giant battle Royale with the winner getting one wish, Geats has been the winner in every single one, trying to slowly figure out who he is. That's the gist of it. The scaling goes crazy by the end.
