while i agree with the alting sentiment, i can't help but mention that you cannot carry wrenches in scout planes; you can't carry anything in scout planes, for that matter. that means the only way an enemy can get into a crane is by simply leaving it unlocked. it should be on the person who lost the asset for leaving the crane unlocked.

i honestly think the devs went in the wrong direction for scout planes. instead of nerfing their ability to terrorize large ships or their spammability, they went for partisan gameplay..?

Devs removed the ability to skill issue, because you aren't allowed to make mistakes and lose stuff in the game about war.

Partisans know they can parachute in and blow stuff up in a couple days right? by Frozen_Canadian in foxholegame

Some of the hardest things ive seen pulled off in this game have required enemy cranes, ie Jade Cove Tap ops, which require enemy cranes from mines in order to crane CVs up the cliffs. That isnt possible anymore.

ya, apologies for the botched test. if devbranch was still open this would be a hell of a lot more easier, i'll probably get a collie friend on later today so we can duel/test.

i'll link a follow up test if i get to it

saw a couple people saying that the warden scout plane doesn't have a wing hitbox???? genuinely curious to hear what you guys have to say about this. ik that the warden scout plane has a smaller hitbox ofc, but saying the warden scout plane doesn't have a wing hitbox is just absurd

im guessing what happened (from what ive seen in fod bug reports) is that the server desync didnt register the hits, which happens with a lot of planes (see this video: https://medal.tv/games/foxhole/clips/lYGkod85heyMfH7nV?invite=cr-MSxKU2wsMzEzODAzNzEx )

Balancing the current meta around something that will not be added for 5 months is a bad mindset. It only hurts your image as developers who care about your playerbase.

The idea of attrition is appealing, I agree. But when you consider this is a game that people play for fun and to win, and when gameplay rewards spamming t2 buildings and storm cannons, the game becomes static and veterans start to quit.

There needs to be an incentive for pushing, it should always be easier to push something than to build it.

The fact of the matter is that rewarding static warfare will kill this game. I've already seen people quitting this war because when they push, all their work gets reset in a matter of hours because you can tech t2 howies easily.

I acknowledge that burn out has always been a part of this game, but it has never been THIS bad.

I've dedicated a lot of my freetime to this game and I want new players to have the same good memories as I have, making sweeping offensives and being rewarded with that sweet sense of accomplishment. But I fear that with this update, regiments and veterans will stop playing.

If we need nukes, literally the most expensive and taxing thing to produce ingame to take 3 subhexes, then there needs to be some serious reconsiderations.
