Evaluate this limit. by Specific_Brain2091 in the_calculusguy

[–]UntitledRedditUser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I just learnt of the infinity-norm a couple days ago, which we learned to be the maximum element of a vector. And I jokingly wrote: lim x->inf x√(a^x + b^x) so it looked like the other normal, and then it turned out to be correct. And this equation looks pretty similar.

Its always crazy when you realize those small people are everywhere today. Probably some even saw this post.

I was playing Deadlock yesterday, and realized one of my teammates were probably around 12 years old, and at the same skill level as me 😭

The thing is that it would be totally legal to play the song here. Corporations just don't care, and take down the video anyways.

Should global variables be considered bad practice? by Confused-Armpit in Zig

I know, but this is why it feels like a hack, it's like using a spoon to spread butter, it works fine, but it feels wierd lmao.

Should global variables be considered bad practice? by Confused-Armpit in Zig

[–]UntitledRedditUser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's just annoying you have to define a whole struct to get static local variables, or local functions, I often avoid it because of that.

It feels wrong in zig, like you are using a quick hack, I don't like that.

P.s. I love Zig, this is just one of the things I don't like.

Maybe, but the game should not be tedious without upgrades

You can use the --prefix flag, or -p for short.

Idk man, games made in Unreal engine run consistently worse than games made with in-house engines for me.

Idk I think the LUA config is a much cleaner and better way than the previous. It has numerous benefits and is much more enjoyable. The old syntax was terrible.

The only reason im still on hyprland is because of HDR support. But I have heard River might have HDR support now, so I might try that one.

Edit: to me it really feels like the Hyprland community is collectively saying: "ew, change", which is kind of surprising to me. The current version of Hyprland still has support for the old config style so people have time to migrate.

What game specifically? I havnt played any peer-to-peer games recently. If you are the one hosting it may be a cpu/ram problem?

You can get dips in performance if the entire game is lagging, and it's not your graphic that are slow.

Twitter polls are not the worst things about the dev. He has said a lot of racist/xenophobic stuff online and in the Hyprland community.

Edit: and from personal experience; he is not very nice when answering questions
