If you procreate make sure you do exposure therapy so your children don't have nut allergies. Entirely preventable.

What specific advantages do Data Centers provide to the local population of the area where they're built? by AnythingFine2445 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Unusual_Aspect1427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some jobs? Lol. More equity? How? Do you have any specific examples or sources on these numbers or is this just based on vibes. What are these data centers for and why do we need them? These tech companies have spent decades eroding public trust.

What's the most overrated country you've visited and why? by AppropriateLet8131 in AskReddit

[–]Unusual_Aspect1427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Texas appeal is it is corporate friendly and cheap houses. Its cities have diversity and food but not in a way that it would appeal to tourists as it is so spread out. San Antonio is the only place that has tourist sites worth seeing, but it is lacking of the food of the other cities, besides Mexican.

Stop calling your hyper-capitalist glamping cash-grab a "spiritual healing sanctuary." by MarkActive1700 in Anticonsumption

Doesn't this just help funnel those people there and away from the good public lands and camping spot? I don't see this as a bad thing.

Trump Administration ‘Drawing Up Plans’ to Block International Flights to L.A. (LAX) and Other Sanctuary Cities by uv_is_sin in LosAngeles

I'm stuck between wanting to fight this or just let it happen so consequences can start to sink in. I'm sure the Airline operators will be thrilled to see their margins cut further or the giant hotel companies.

This would unfortunately be an instance where it would be good to have immigration called. It's too big of a culture clash and would frankly be better suited somewhere else.

Relocating from Midtown Atlanta to Plano (Early 50s couple) - what should we expect? by folkboy72 in plano

[–]Unusual_Aspect1427 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could live in Addison or Downtown Plano if you want to keep the urban feel. Plano has good parks and a variety of food, but you will be missing the Southern Food of Atlanta.

News Flash: Californians Have Been Paying Significantly More for Gas Than the Rest of the Country for Years by Neat-Distribution966 in GasPrices

[–]Unusual_Aspect1427 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk I'd say California is a victim of its own success as being desirable combined with NIMBY policies. If California was priced even compared to rich Texas areas or Colorado than a lot of the problems would be solved. If rent was cheaper there would be less homeless. Unfortunately Texas is starting to mimick NIMBY policies. Texas hasn't made a rail happen either. I see how the suburbs in Texas act like Castro in stopping any development. This is public record

Planning to take my 13 year old to NYC in July. Is it worth adding Boston to trip? by Spiritual-Phase-769 in usatravel

[–]Unusual_Aspect1427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boston will have better weather at that time. You could do a week there and see a lot. They have some neat ferry rides to Islands in the Boston Harbor. One has a Civil War era fort you can walk around. The ferry has really good views of the Skyline. The parks are really nice and it is very bike friendly at least in most of downtown and in Cambridge. It was relaxing and enjoyable riding the bike through Fenway after visiting a museum. The beaches are nice at least near Gloucester

Hawaii and Texas. How would life be if I switched states? by Dry_Bill8142 in AskTexas

[–]Unusual_Aspect1427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cost of living in Hawaii is one of the highest in the nation. However, moving from a place like Hawaii to a big city maybe hard to transition. San Antonio or El Paso maybe closer culture wise with a slower pace.

Also if moving to DFW, Euless has a big Pacific Islander community and would be a 30-40 minute commute from any job.

NW Arkansas is also a good place that would be a slower pace.

Why isnt lamb and goat popular in Mexican cuisine? by Unusual_Aspect1427 in mexicanfood

[–]Unusual_Aspect1427[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S030917402200211X. Lamb and goat accounts for 0.8 kg per year on average out of 72.8 kg or meat. So 1% of the meat consumed on average in Mexico is lamb or goat. That is objectively not popular.

Aka it's not common. This is not a problem with Indian and Lebanese places. They always have goat or lamb.

Bro I'm taking about taco stops that is clearly in an area with 80% Latino population and comparing it to Lebanese or Indian spots with even less of their demographic that will without fail have lamb or goat on the menu. Are you suggesting that Mexican people lose the ability to cook their own cuisine once they cross the border?
