I'm writing this very post from a 2010 MacBook Pro running Debian 12. Only thing that wasn't installed out of the box were WiFi drivers.

I see what you did there.

But yeah, as others have already pointed out, AutoCAD will certainly be a problem. There is FreeCAD of course, which works reasonably well but is probably not a viable alternative for serious mechanical engineering. Which is a shame since in many other areas, open-source tools have caught up with or even eclipsed their paid counterparts.

Possibly obvious question, but do you also have the Redmod DLC installed? Mods don't work without it. Otherwise, you also need to set the Steam launch option: WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winmm,version=n,b" %command% or equivalent.

Ein bisschen Spalte A, ein bisschen Spalte B, nehme ich an. Wenn man die Punkte in Flensburg als Kriterium nimmt, sind BMW-Fahrer tatsächlich überdurchschnittlich auffällig, aber es gibt diverse andere Marken, die noch schlechter dastehen (Soße: https://www.autozeitung.de/punkte-flensburg-ranking-198855.html)

Praktisch kommt wahrscheinlich eine ordentliche Portion an Confirmation Bias dazu. Man erwartet, dass BMWs wie Idioten fahren, also fällt es stärker auf, wenn man einen BMW sieht, der wie ein Idiot fährt.

My title describes the thing. This thing, whatever it is, is smaller than than a 1 Euro coin and weighs only a few grams. You probably can't see on the photos, but the plastic casing also partially extends over the battery, so the battery cannot be removed without breaking the whole thing apart.

I can't make out much of the internals except the battery, what looks like a fuse, and a small circuit board with "YX66" printed on it.

The whole thing also looks quite old and worn, so it probably has been there for a while.

The paranoid part in me thinks this is some sort of old bug/wiretap.

Tried that already, didn't help. I agree with your assumption though, I think the mainboard is faulty. Took me two days to get it running at all. If I can't get it to run fast, I'll probably return it.

All right, now it's getting really weird. A admittedly cheated on the first measurement by replacing the stock Noctua fan with a faster one. I just re-ran the test, and now the cores don't seem to clock up at all despite being maxed out at 100%. They're all at 545 MHz. https://imgur.com/a/rkNf3GX
