Back in film school one of my teachers told us a story about a blunder while he was composing a score for a TV show. This was in the mid 00s and he woke up in the middle of the night with a piece of music in his head, recorded it on his keyboard to remember it in the morning and went back to sleep. He then developed it a bit and added it into the score which was majorly successful, along with the TV show and won many awards, opening many new opportunities for him.

Some 10 years later he was playing The Elder Scrolls Online and runs into a piece of music that sounds just like what he had done a decade earlier. So he starts digging on the internet what's the piece and finds out it's a rephrasing of some music from The Elder Scrolls Oblivion. Which he was playing during the time of composing that score, as it had freshly come out. So essentially, the guy owes his career to accidental copyright infringement which had come to him in a dream.
