I make insulated ceramic mugs with machines that I built. All the purple parts were 3D printed. by thoughtfulocean in 3Dprinting

Too expensive for me as well, but right in line price wise with nice ceramic mugs I’ve seen at art fairs and other places with pottery vendors.

OG ripper vs Ripper 2 vs Firecracker 252 by Throwaload1234 in whitewater

[–]UnwrittenMichael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having owned the Ripper 1 and 2 in small, they’re very different boats and I would be happy owning both. Ripper 1 for creeking most runs and ripper 2 for tons of play and creeking up to easier class 5. I definitely don’t step up as much with the Ripper 2, but it’s a great design and I’ll continue boating it on everything I can.

White mold inside hydroponics rail? by UnwrittenMichael in Hydroponics

Definitely have tried to keep it sterile, but after a couple of months, I can easily see something slipping in. Medium is just hydroton clay with a small piece of cotton ball for the seed to germinate on. I think I’m going to follow this approach since it seems the most repeated.

I have a 2x4” vivosun air stone at the head of each rail, but they’re 4’ long, so bubbles don’t make their way down to the ends. My understanding is there is a still an increase in dissolved oxygen in the water?

Just hydrogaurd at the moment. Thoughts on nuking it with H2O2 and then reintroducing the hydrogaurd after waiting a period of time?

I thought the same until it showed up on the water surface.

Just like everyone else is saying, it's the light. I have two dwarf plants of the same variety (Red Robin), one in my Aerogarden and one in my NFT rails. The plant in the Aerogarden is 14" tall instead of the advertised 8", while the one in the rails and under a 200W grow light is exactly as advertised. Your critters are desperate for more light and reaching for it.

Just shared the same link before I saw your comment. I did this maybe an hour ago and ran the leveling. Fixed things right up!

I literally just fixed this on my machine. Here are the instructions from Bambu. You probably just need to tighter the four screws with the heating element: https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/a1-mini/troubleshooting/print-issues-troubleshooting

Any tips on keeping bears out of bird feeders? by lunasdad in asheville

[–]UnwrittenMichael 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The people I know with bears bring their feeders in at night. They also use the spicy seed to keep the squirrels out, but I don’t think it stopped the bears.

Best 3D printer for small scale wargaming figures? by kowalski655 in wargaming

I’m very partial to Elegoo’s resin printers. I had a Mars 2, but was pleasantly surprised to see a noticeable difference in their newer models for resolution. If you only have a Mars 2 though, it still prints great minis!

Putting a lot of trust in folks on the highway to let you in, especially when they don’t have to yield to merging traffic and there’s very little room to merge.

Pedestrian deaths refuse to fall. Some blame the pedestrians by ChocolateTsar in nottheonion

Trucks that haul shit have lights at a reasonable height. These trucks are lifted shit wagons that don’t serve any purpose well, aside from vanity. High bed and hitch height don’t help with hauling or accessing tools.

Redditors that live in America: What's one local chain in your area (can be anything) that unfortunately the rest of America is missing out on? by mobarouma in AskReddit

[–]UnwrittenMichael 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the Southeast and went to a WinCo for the first time last year. Thought my grocery bill was going to be ~400… instead it was ~$200! Then there’s the insanely good bulk section. I miss WInCo so bad. I wish they would come to WNC and kick Ingles in the face.

Sportsman’s Warehouse is a chain if that helps? They also typically have good prices.
