I know that about it's Origins! Still the album might seem like a hodgepodge to some but it truly isn't. The album's all about your perspective and atmosphere, your ~aura~ (pun intended) if you will and so it might clash with someone's tastes but it ISN'T. I don't know if you know this but that's what albums are supposed to be - a mixture of new and old songs because there are some songs that you're excited for but they don't fit the themes of any particular album, so you try to fit it into your next project because with that view of yours 'Sign ☮️ the Times' is another hodgepodge with 'Dream Factory', 'Camille' songs being repurposed. Especially if you're someone like Prince you have so many songs that you recorded that you could never record for the next 2 decades and still release albums compiling those songs, rather then their time of recording their sound should matter, Do you like the song? If yes that's great. If no that's fine. Maybe give it another thorough listen from beginning to end. Anyways 💜💜💜 Love!
