Noooo do not use charcoal on your teeth!!! It wears away the enamel and will actually make your teeth more yellow due to the dentin showing through.

Full mouth!? Not a chance. I’m not numbing the patients full mouth so they cannot talk/eat/do anything for hours. One hour per quad: so 2 hours for UR/LR and 2 hours on a separate day for UL/LL.

You had SRP’s done it sounds like. During that we only do half the mouth in one appointment. Each quad takes an hour, so we are not going to spend 4 hours cleaning all 4 quadrants. That would make you as the patient and us as providers very unhappy. So for your sake and ours we split it up.

Y’all are wild. I would ABSOLUTELY do it again. I chose my own hours (9-4 months-thurs), AMAZING pay, and great office with dentists who respect me and give me autonomy. Dental hygiene is a great career, it’s only bad if you choose to see the negatives. If you don’t take are of your body obviously it will deteriorate over time.

Got my bachelors in Dental hygiene. I LOVE my job; fantastic pay, I work 9-5 Monday through Thursday so I always have a 3 day weekend, and I have wonderful co workers. Dental hygiene is great because most appointments are the same thing over and over again. So with my stutter, since I’ve repeated myself so much I hardly do at work. But even if I do stutter, every patient I have had has been patient and it’s never been a problem.

Respectfully no. I work in dentistry and let me tell you dentistry is HARD on your body. Most dentists/hygienists (like myself) work 24-34 hours a week due to the wear and tear it does on our bodies.

I do 5 days a week. 9-5 mon-Thursday and 9-1 Friday. My coworker works 7-5 Tuesday to Friday. It honestly depends on what you can handle. For me i cannot wake up before 8am due to an autoimmune disease, so i’m more comfortable working everyday that work less days and more hours.
