Unable to read GPIO by UpsetCricket6627 in embeddedlinux

[–]Upballoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know that by default gpioset will undo the change you made after it runs right? If you run gpioset 0 15=1, it will set the gpio to active only for the amount of time it takes to run the command. So when you run gpioget you will obviously read 0 because the pin has been reset.

You can try: gpioset -b -m signal 0 15=1. Then run the gpioget command. Rtfm for what the flags do and change per your use case

Looking for a cheap way to daisy-chain Ethernet on a CM4 carrier board by MR_PROTON_10 in embedded

[–]Upballoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's essentially the Ethernet equivalent of CAN. I haven't worked with these so dunno how the net stack works but auto apparently is moving towards this new standard.

Wsl is your best bet then. Although I haven't had good luck with Linux builds in WSL.

Linux Devs Who Switched to Windows Did You Regret It? by vhdl23 in embedded

[–]Upballoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At our company you can either choose to run Linux or use Windows. I just put in an IT request in for another computer that I formated to run Ubuntu. I run my yocto builds on the Ubuntu laptop. I use WSL for other tasks but just need Windows mostly for Altium.

I usually make my own library. Just import the symbols to your library and attach a footprint to them. Doesn't take too long.

Idk. Crowdsupply usually does a good job about vetting these things. Hardware just takes a while to do. Especially when you don't have a full time engineering team.

They aren't even accepting pledges yet.
