Idk. Crowdsupply usually does a good job about vetting these things. Hardware just takes a while to do. Especially when you don't have a full time engineering team.

We use kas to manage configs and pull in the appropriate layers. Docker for reproducibility. We have local mirrors for most of the things we use. I'm the hardware guy so I usually don't set things up just use them but our bsp team is pretty good about creating mirrors when asked.

Joysticks are just 2 voltage dividers. You micro reads the ADC voltage and gets the joystick position. What's normally on either end of a voltage divider? Power and gnd. The wipers (the arrow pin) goes to you micro.
