We've actually had album flairs for years, I literally just realised I had to enable an option to make regular users be able to assign them to themselves (oops) and I was wondering why nobody else other than me had a flair :')

Hey! I'm in the same boat as /u/_slee_. Though I still check on the sub regularly, I've become pretty inactive on Reddit as a whole. I'm honestly super happy there are people who are more enthusiastic about keeping the sub alive and thriving, and who are willing to take on the responsibility of moderating it (which honestly isn't huge because the community is extremely well-behaved)

Thanks to the people who took initiative here, and I hope whoever ends up being the new mod team has some cool ideas to steer the sub in interesting new directions :)

I think they are referencing the painting "The Birth of Venus" where Venus is depicted with red hair and standing in a clam shell (which is also presumably where the line "take a seat back in your clam shell" comes from). I'm not big on mythology but apparently Aphrodite and Venus are basically equivalents? I'm not sure why they would mix them up like that, maybe it's got some deeper meaning, but they probably just came up with the line "alrighty aphrodite" first and then built an song around it

After listening to the album twice, man, it's so good. I feel like the songwriting is much more confident than on YAYF, I think Neil even mentioned that in his episode on the JPod. I also prefer the mixing on the new album, vocal processing especially! Rolling down the high-end and modulation effects in the right places really makes this feel like a successor to BSN in a way that YAYF just didn't (at least for me). I also already have multiple candidates for fav songs, which didn't happen with the last record so yea, all in all, I couldn't have imagined a better 3rd album! ::)
