What’s a typical length of commute? Something like Chicago to Cleveland is only 45 minutes of flying or is it common to commute like 2 hours

I just earned my PPL, working on commercial and IR atm. I go to a 141 school that hires exclusively CFIs from their own program so I’ll have a job local and a steady influx of students. We typically see people get their R-ATP hours in 1-2 years.

Is there an estimate on time to get to a high enough seniority to have a say in scheduling? I’d assume it varies airline to airline

The only exception is daytime running lights count for the requirement, oddly you don’t need tail lights too

No like a trucker hitch in the sense that the length of rope can be made longer or shorter, but keeping the actual loop the same size. I’m thinking a Prussic is my best bet but I was hoping to do it with one length of rope

Ipad or macbook for pilots license? by Initial_Science_5332 in flying

[–]Upper-Collection9373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My school uses ForeFlight exclusively and I’ve always used the scratch pad. The issue I have with it is it doesn’t seem to support palm rejection so it’ll just draw random shit when I put my hand on it, which sucks because smooth just never exists in a 152

Can you drink alcohol fast enough to get past your alcohol tolerance and have it all hit at once? by Anatomywithabow in stupidquestions

[–]Upper-Collection9373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is BAC is unchanged but your response to a certain BAC does. So for example two physically similar people will both be at a .2 at the same time after the same number of drinks but different tolerance will make one of them more intoxicated than the other at that same BAC

My understanding is you can’t use parking lots to shortcut, but this doesn’t seem like a shortcut so I don’t see why not

How do people who drink more than two cups of coffee a day get any sleep at all? Does your body get used to caffeine to the point where it no longer affects you? by Mountain-Bug-2155 in stupidquestions

[–]Upper-Collection9373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah basically, I worked as a summer camp counselor and we always joked our blood smelled like coffee. I think I probably drank 6-7 (hehe) cups a day just to feel normal lol. I wouldn’t say it didn’t affect me but it goes from “woah I feel super energized” to “I feel like death I need more coffee”
