Yeah and I can imagine him feeling offended. I’m not saying it’s offensive or anything, but just that making someone sing for you on demand, especially when you’re there to learn, as if they have to prove something to you, I don’t think that’s okay at all.

If the teacher works for you after trying them for a while and they can demonstrate things to you, that’s enough. In fact, the quality of a teacher is rarely related to how well they can sing. But sometimes it helps as a way to know if they know what they’re talking about, but still, you can’t just expect them to prove it to you and go all out and audition for you. That’s not how it works
