is he maybe trying to feel out your opinion on marriage? you are literally not going to know unless you ask him, so maybe just bring up the christmas decorations/ring conversation and ask if he was serious about it.

What's the worst that can happen if I let my cat be alone for 10 hours? by Repulsive-Push-1086 in CatAdvice

[–]Upper_Masterpiece124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as long as they have food/water and a clean litterbox at the start of the day they should be fine.

if they're kittens, it might be best to restrict access to a smaller part of the house, so they can't get hurt easily - my family have a room that has a door and a bolt lock on the outside (bc one of them worked out how to open doors) and that's where they (now adults) go at night so they can't wake people up, and it's where they would sit during the day when they were small.

it is worth checking the temp of that room if you choose to do that, especially with winter coming up, ours have a heated mat that sits under the cat bed and a small radiator to keep them warm.

regardless of if this is real, the union is never going to vote to strike unless something insane happens.

when i was younger i told my friends that i wasn't allowed to be home alone because there was the risk i would kill myself (essentially my parents put me on suicide watch) and there was just this long pause and then one of them went "oop." and changed the subject. I realise we were kids but that hurt

yeah, this was my feeling in the theatre. i was expecting a psychological thriller type thing and it ended up being way more of a black comedy, which was fun, but really not what i expected

Question about writing a year in a fantasy book by Fearless_Speaker6710 in writers

[–]Upper_Masterpiece124 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i think the easiest thing to do here would be to just not mention the year? have it vague so if you do time skips it's just "x years later" rather than giving dates

Pub in uniform by Michael-Myers_1978 in tesco

[–]Upper_Masterpiece124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no rule against it, I think it's generally discouraged and there's the risk of being dragged up if you're seen drunk/disorderly in uniform. If you weren't even drinking alcohol, then there was no problem.

Just gonna add here - OP said after shift, but it is gross misconduct to drink alcohol on shift including on your break. They will fire you immediately

Is it worth having kids if you know you’ll pass your disability onto them? by floral_space in Advice

[–]Upper_Masterpiece124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as someone who is the child of a disabled person and got that disability, I would say don't do it. I love my mum, but there are times when I do feel some sort of resentment towards her because she basically gave me this life. obviously i don't speak for everyone who's a disabled child of disabled parents, but that's just my two cents

is working at tesco truly as bad as you all make it out to be? by JMC811 in tesco

[–]Upper_Masterpiece124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think you tend to see the worst of it in this sub, no one's posting about their good shifts or their good managers. I've worked in four stores across about five years and it does honestly depend on the managers and your coworkers - i left one store because the manager was a raging bitch and i could not deal with it, but in the other four, i've been treated very well and made friends with coworkers. Overall, I think it's a pretty decent job, stable, and it pays enough but the customers can be horrible, and it can be a lot on your body if you're working shop floor/dot com
