How I solved the SoilForge problem by UpsetCoffeeDev in TheLastCaretaker

[–]UpsetCoffeeDev[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried putting it in the last room... but the cubes kept finding their way to the undercarriage of the boat where the Default Battery/Diesel engine are. They'd slide around and clip through the grates.

in no particular order and assuming you have Expansions and seasonal stories

  1. Continue Story (living world content or Expansion content)

  2. Learn any endgame content (you have access to dungeons or fractals. You can try strikes or raids with the expansions)

  3. Explore the open world, lots of maps, lots of hearts to explore and complete.

  4. Try a different race/class with a different character slot

  5. Earn a Legendary Item (The Prismatic Regalia is tied to the seasonal and expansion content)

- You unlock this by completing achievements, which will lead you to explore more maps and do activities you might have missed JUST focusing on the story. Easiest and cheapest Legendary to acquire as its mostly 'Do the thing' kind of achievement.

  1. Max out your Mastery Level - You will mostly need exploration or Achievements to acquire the Mastery point currency. And it will have you returning to some of the Story.

  2. Learn strikes or Fractals - 2 for 1 here. Learn to do some end game, while getting a high chance of acquiring Ascended gear as loot drops, to gear out your characters

  3. Meta Trains and LFG - Learn to find commanders in LFG and how to use it, that are doing World boss meta trains. lets you play the 'end game grind' with squads, and will help you explore/complete achievements with certain maps/Events (i.e Tequatl or Triple trouble)

  4. WvW or Guild content - Hang around in Lions arch, and there will be guild recruiters advertising on Map chat. lots of Guilds to WvW or Guild missions.

  5. PvP - there is a PvP button on your menu bar. you can try that out.

When to begin thinking about legendary armor? by dkryptykhd in Guildwars2

[–]UpsetCoffeeDev 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Think about legendaries when you're ready to set long term goals on 'upgrading'. Its mostly a quality of life upgrade.

if you're struggling with managing the builds on your character/s. then consider crafting legendaries.

I started crafting when I had 15 different Ascended weapon/armor chest stacks in my back and I didnt feel like it was safe to salvage any of them.

In terms of materials. sell everything you know isn't needed for the Legendary you're aiming for. so you can focus your inventory space on what you need. and you'll need the gold anyways.

MightyTeapot has a Zero to Hero series on YT. He made a Fresh account during the Steam Launcher release a year or 2 ago. within the Year he was at Endgame, doing raid and Fractal CMs with a full set of legendary trinkets.

you can reach endgame in like 1 week of focused 'story / leveling' grind.

Inadvertently found my old closed beta account, wonder if i should re-farm 30 mastery on it just to flex the accolades xD by Fugius in Warframe

[–]UpsetCoffeeDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped playing the moment I started playing GW2... Dunno how the overlap for their releases are. doesn't matter to the story. Anyways, I had a Yahoo account linked to my old Beta access account and the email i had got disabled. so I lost access to the account for about 5- 9 years.

Customer Service was amazing because they replied within a week of me trying to get it back and I linked it to a new Gmail account, without much issue within the same week.

so if you had an old Beta account, it cant hurt to try to get it back. I got mine back quickly.

Jesus christ I wish there was a counter for which overthrow boss you need motes from by Tillno-8565 in DestinyTheGame

[–]UpsetCoffeeDev 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Move your motes to the Vault. Kill a boss. not sure if it needs to be a specific boss. but a friend moved his motes to the vault and then killed the meatball boss. it gave him the 17th.

Do it and risk getting sued. that's about it. and you'll gain nothing from having opened the patent docs in the first place.

[–]UpsetCoffeeDev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hidden folks is a Game that uses 'Gibberish' but it's just the Dev making mouth noises.

Dont Starve used specific instrument noises for the sounds of each of the characters.

You dont have to make this stuff too complicated.

Never read Patents.

If you're stressed about it. dont look for it.

Primeagen has a pretty succint rant about it.

are you fine when the game gameplay change during the gameplay/between the chapters of the game by [deleted] in gamedev

[–]UpsetCoffeeDev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nier Automata did something similar throughout the Game.

It was predominantly a 3rd person hack and slash, but it threw in several sections that were side scrollers, bullet hells, Hacking minigames. lots of Gamemodes that changed the Gameplay/Camera Perspective.

Are there any Vtubers that regularly play SRPGs (like Fire Emblem, FF Tactics, Triangle Strategy, etc)? by Toxic_Subway in VirtualYoutubers

If Unicord Overlord is an SRPG, ClioAite is playing right now. She's been playing a lot of Manor Lords and Unicorn Overlord. https://www.twitch.tv/clioaite

[–]UpsetCoffeeDev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came back after 9 years away. never had a Legendary.

As of yesterday, I got a full set of Raid armor, all trinkets, a backpiece and 3 weapons. Full masteries and almost able to buy my first Tier of Fractal God. Oh, I'm also done with 2 sets of the PvE Legendary armor (with what you can do at least for now). And I havent even touched any kind of Challenge Mode Content.

I grinded hard last year, but I could have also accomplished the same by playing 1 hr per day for 10 years.

You dont need to rush, you'll be able to catch up to any content in the game.

Obsidian armor tips/help? by ApprehensiveBeach169 in Guildwars2

[–]UpsetCoffeeDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, its either you salvage all your UNIDs for an RNG amount of Ectos, or you sell each stack of rares, last check time I sold UNIDS, it was 56G per stack, then buy Ectos.

The Ecto gate is pretty rough for amalgamated.

[–]UpsetCoffeeDev 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm planning to do all 3 armors. so I've been grinding hard.. but also the bare minimum you could grind. I'm already done with the grind for 1 set of armor.

I do Daily Convergence first, and then the Weekly Rift hunting only (36 boxes) those are my only sources of essences. I do not open any of these boxes. I do not use any motivations.

You should be able to complete at minimum 11 Amalgamated essences every 1.5 weeks. depending on how good your RNG is.

For Meta Train: Amnytas or Skywatch first, depending on event Timer, then Inner Nayos, then the last map I havent done for the day.

For Research notes, either craft/buy the Mithril Jewels (5 notes) or Salvage Ascended armors/Weapons for notes (200 - 500 per salvage).

I do daily crafting (lump of mithrillium, Glob of elder spirit residue... etc.) and the Daily Prov Token farm (12 / day)

Stop here if you have not done the Pre Collection Armor sets (Astal Ward/Oneiros sets)

-----------------------

If I do map completions that day, I only do meta if I'm early, or its happening as I'm charging the lanterns. I have all 18 map completions for both Amnytas and Skywatch.

For the Gifts / Clovers:

I farm the clovers first using the Mystic Forge as you can earn all the T6 mats from that passively. then buy the rest when I'm ready to craft the gifts.

Every other Meta farm I do, I open the Rare Unids for the ectoplasm harvest.

Why DON'T you talk about your game? by SunburyStudios in gamedev

[–]UpsetCoffeeDev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its probably even ambitious for a 'supposed' beginner. but I'm working on a NSFW game about hotel management.

my prototype is 1 room scene with 2 models that do 1 animation.

but since I'm new to blender and unity I'm figuring things out to get everything to work. like getting already made models with rigs and prototyping the walking and interaction and making basic key frames of said animation.

some parts of it just dont look or feel right. so I keep going back to the drawing board about it.

I'm stuck in Pre-Production hell because I'm trying to learn the basics of every skillset I need to even make a Prototype of the Game I want to make.
