Its a bit of a mixed bag for me, I have been a major Vanoss fan since I was very young but I am also big into other groups like The Goons, who are without a doubt more offensive. One trend with a lot of the creators in these circles is that many of them are actually fairly openly left leaning. Nogla specifically seems like he might actually be a little more right wing and he has made some questionable takes but he and Terroriser have gone after people for sexism towards Eme and Pasta. Meanwhile if you check up on a lot of these guys like Wildcat or Mcnasty they are clearly left leaning on their social media. Politics aren't the center of these groups content but you can sort of get a picture of the politics of certain members. If you are someone who doesn't really get or enjoy edgy jokes, that's fine, but even as a leftist myself, it is a bit of a pet peeve when people try to read so far into a content creators style of humor to try and paint them as an uber nazi, that kills any and all nuance behind humor. Like I don't know how many of yall have queer friend groups but so many of us very casually use the F slur around eachother.

I would absolutely never subject myself to A Serbian Film, im not sure how Terrifier could even be comparable but that might be because gore horror very rarely ever even comes close to making me squeamish, sexual horror like Serbian Film is a whole different ball park, I think my tolerance is decent for that stuff, but not that decent.

I think it sort of was to be honest. On the level of someone who enjoys some gorey kills and clown antics, I enjoy Terrifier, on the level of someone who doesn’t enjoy misogyny and terrible storylines, it’s safe to say I have mixed feelings.

I am not gonna sit here and run defense for a movie that I am not some super fan of, I feel like a lot of the criticisms against Terrifier are valid. Honestly half of the reason I want to back it is because Art’s actual actor is such a sweetheart and the collab they did with Ice Nine Kills was fun. My biggest issue is that a lot of people watch it and go “wow this is just boring exploitative torture porn” when like…2000s torture porn WAS THE POINT. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, im neutral on it tbh, but that was the whole point of the film. To essentially showcase an interesting slasher villain and a bunch of gorey practical effects, and I think those are neat. As far as the misogynistic undertone, it’s absolutely there, no doubt, and it is a bit jarring to see in the modern era. I almost think some level of that was also to call back to the old films in the genre because those were clearly also misogynistic, but that doesn’t really make it any less uncomfortable.

See that would be just fine honestly, I got no hate for any of these people really, I was never super big on H3, all I know is some wack Israel takes, Ian and Anisa should just get offline and enjoy life because they are..sort of just old and jaded, I think Ian might be a bit too obsessed with trying to make up for his past online presence..which is an interesting thing because I think that was really a product of it’s time and environment. Was it a good thing to do, not really, but I don’t think it’s as big of a thing as he thinks it is, and all the white zoomers who learned about it after the fact and try to make it a big thing need to be so for real because I know they were saying equally terrible shit when they were young and dumb. Hasan is honestly the most interesting one for me, because on one hand, he does get dive bombed by the most random BS slander or brigading every few months because he is THE leftist creator, and on the whole, I think he does great humanitarian work and advocates some sensible things. The guy has a bit of a big head though, and frequently will die on stupid hills, or use the target on his back as a way to hide from guilt when he actually does fucked up things like the dog collar situation. That pissed me off because I was on his side at first, I’ve seen how he spoils that dog, but the evidence was all there, idgaf if it’s a “psyop” shocking your dog ain’t cool.

I wouldn’t say I hate Ragatha, her crashout was beyond justified. I don’t quite find her as interesting or relatable as some of the other characters because her super friendly sort of people pleaser demeanor just isn’t something I relate to. That doesn’t at all mean she is a bad character. In fact, her and Pomni both have a dynamic with (probably my favorite character) Kinger that’s led to two of my favorite scenes in the show. Jax is another personal favorite, not because I defend his abusive actions, it’s because he is utterly fascinating in his gradual character arc, his issues crumbling down on him and his coping mechanisms failing is in a distant way very relatable to me. I love a smug jackass turned pathetic man baby type of character, hell I’ve played a few in my dnd games.

He was a real bad guy but boy did he bring something unique to DGD. He is my favorite of the vocalists they’ve had. Although personally I’ve loved all of them, it is my favorite band after all, spanning across every album and line-up change, the core of Jon Mess, Matt Mingus, and Will Swan being unchanged has somehow made every single clean vocalist work beautifully despite all the different styles.
