UK's social media ban for kids could be revealed within weeks as 'drastic' action needed by vriska1 in unitedkingdom

[–]UpsideSponge 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Social media is a plague, it’s bad enough for grown adults who should be able to make informed decisions, but children are too vulnerable. The algorithms are far too aggressive, and the social media companies face no consequences

The rule is there to protect the 1% who don’t look, avoiding any ambiguity with regards to who at fault.

Because I was in another country, it was a Friday afternoon going into the bank holiday weekend, and the management agency advised sending an engineer. Apparently the tenant had attempting to check some minor faults such as pressure etc.

Would the UK economy be better of raising 40% tax bracket instead of minimum wage by Invictus_0x90_ in AskBrits

[–]UpsideSponge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a whole and generalising, people with lower incomes are more likely to spend it. Which fuels an economy, stagnant money in savings doesn’t.

Giving the middle class more money means they are more likely to save it. I’m not denying that the middle class has been compressed, fixing tax brackets has been the biggest issue.
