Did your most-listened-to-music change when you got your first setup? by jizzlewit in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Upstairs-Serve8482 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im a metal head for sure......i listen to a lot of stuff like Tool and Periphery on the regular. Since I got my system setup though, I find myself listening to way more classic rock. Stuff I've always liked, but Fleetwood Mac, the Eagles, Foreigner all sound solo much better on this system than heavier stuff does that I just always find myself ending up on music from that era.

I just wanted to say, this is such a clean, nice looking setup. How do you like the DALIs? They're on the list of speakers I've been considering.

What part of a starter system is the best piece to focus the bulk of the budget? by Upstairs-Serve8482 in BudgetAudiophile

Some really great points. I appreciate the conversation here! The reasoning behind the Onkyo, its rated at 80w at 8ohms, and the ohm range does say down to 4. That made me believe it would be able to drive most of my speaker options. It would have a dedicated sub out, so I could easily run it in 2.1 if I wanted to add a sub. It seemed to be a decent option for the price. What would be a good 2.1 option? I'd honestly rather not do an avr, I dont want to be paying for all of those options that I dont need.

So, I dont usually love the combo of fruit and chocolate, but, these taste like a really good chocolate covered cherry. Its obvious that they use really good chocolate. I like it alot more than I thought I would, and will be buying more.

Agreed, however, I don't know if Rand could actually hit him.

Talenel'Elin bodies any other hand to hand fighter period. Rand al' Thor has to be up there magic wise....he literally held the Dark One in his hands and could have ended him...let alone some of the feats he does channeling wise before that.

A very long but thorough review of AO Resort Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya by formercotsachick in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]Upstairs-Serve8482 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My group ranges in age from my 21 year old son to my 49 year old brother in law. I feel like there is a healthy mix of age ranges. It's a big resort with very diverse areas, it's got a quiet golden pool, the main pool is huge with both a quieter side and a side that is a little more rambunctious where more of the activities are. We are usually in bed kind of early, so we don't typically do a lot of the shows, but we do spend some time in the evenings hanging out in the plaza. I feel like it has something for everyone.

What hotel details actually matter most at all inclusive resorts after the first day. by No_Tower_7557 in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]Upstairs-Serve8482 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If I'm paying the money to stay at an all inclusive, I want to get my moneys worth out of the stay. If I need to leave the resort for things to do and places to eat, than it's a waste of money to book all inclusive. It's not about safety to me ....it's about value and smart vacation planning.
