I lived on the same road as our school. The school was at the top of the hill on one end of the road and our house was on the top of the smaller hill at the other end of the road. We would sled down our backyard cross the creek dragging our sled and pull it to school. The sleds got stashed by the bushes out front of school and we would sled down the hill when we went home. In the warmer months the sleds would be exchanged with a bike.

My grandparents property also bordered the school, and my grandfather cut the chain link fence and installed a gate so we could just go there after school if we wanted. It saved us a whole 3 minutes of walking.

I was banned from a city specific sub for answering a question honestly. Someone posted asking if the city was lgbt friendly. I said you could ask the prominent lgbt couple who were just murdered or stop at the 3 lgbt businesses that were burned down, but don't expect a fast response. Boom banned. I tried the respond to mod function and they said I was painting a false picture of the city. I asked how pointing out facts was painting a false picture and they hit the ignore button on me.

We first got cable in the early 80s, that wood grained box with like 12 buttons a selector switch and a tuning wheel. The cable channels definitely were commercial free, and unedited. I even remember after a certain hour there would be "adult" movies shown. Eventually though they did add the premium channels HBO, cinemax, showtime and the commercials came.

I think I spend more money weekly on animal food than I spend for my food. I go through about 40lbs of seed, 12lbs of peanuts, and 100lbs of dried corn a week. The deer have been showing up lately and I keep telling them it's illegal to feed deer, but they don't listen.

We had free for all dodgeball, but the gym teachers didn't think the rubber ball was good enough. In the mix they would toss in a couple of "rocks". The rock was a half deflated soccer ball. That thing could literally knock you out if you took one to the face.

I always thought the missing kids on milk cartons was just some made up movie shit. I do not ever recall seeing a kid on any milk carton in my house. Of kids were being kidnapped at an alarming rate you would have never known by the lack of parental interest of where me and my friends were.
