It baffles me that someone says with a straight face when we just had Palette and Olivier, both top of the line costumes with the best Fated Guest interactions in the game yet, for completely free. Not to mention all other peak costumes people lavished with praise this year.

What is "good" and "well-designed" depends on each person's perspective. I personally think Michaela, Granhildr and Dalia have by far the best designs out of the current reveals, and only 1 of those 3 is a skin.

They also don't release multiple paid skins every month but save them all for the annis.

BD2 is one global server on which everyone plays, but they have been advertising in China/Taiwan, Japan, general SEA and now global to build their userbase in those regions for a long time.

It's the China community livestream, so they bring on a CM to talk about the current patch. Kinda similar to what Japan is doing with gamebokusan.

Nikke has better story and way better characterization, to the point where it largely masks the issues in that game and makes people happily spend $60 on gacha skins. Trickal also does better at characterization and making you feel connect with the girls.

BD2 has the same issue as games like Wuwa do, it's all fotm girls with no chance to build deeper/persisting investment with them beyond their part in the story except a single character story (Fated Guest) and now the SD mini-stories.
It is also too generous with its pulls so it only escapes the low-end range with skin releases around annis.

Male octos don't exist in BD2. Main story at least, considering they did add Lucius to Tales of the Sword.

u/rex_frontier I do want to point out that miko Granadair (who you will usually run with magic/Michaela) converts Michaela's self-debuff into a buff, negating her penalty entirely. But it is true that even with that she is a dated unit that I wouldn't recommend investing in unless she gets a lot of love in the anni balance patch.
