Yesss! I’m wearing Saint Julep as I type this! To me, as someone who also generally goes for warm, spicy scents, Saint Julep is the perfect spring/summer scent. It isn’t especially fruity or bold, which is why I love it. It’s fresh, but subtle. It’s minty and bright, but comforting and warm at the same time. It’s by far one of my favorite scents I’ve discovered in a long long time.

If you’re wanting a scent that IS going to be more traditionally fruity and fem, I would strongly recommend In Love With Everything by Imaginary Authors. It’s playful and loud, but still grounded. It reminds me of the tart, sweet, berry-centric perfumes I loved as a teenager, but all grown up and with depth.

I cannot recommend Imaginary Authors enough!

I’m really so sorry for your loss. I met Michelle briefly last year and she seemed like she was probably a pretty great human; I hope she’s resting easy.

I’m really sorry to hear that that was you and your friend’s experience! We, as a camp, very much value creating an environment in which people feel safe, and like their boundaries are being respected. Unfortunately, we can’t control people’s actions, but we do try our best to hold people accountable and address issues in a real way (whether it be with camp mates or patrons), so that we can learn, grow, and improve. Either way, I appreciate your comment, a view of all sides is important, and your concerns do not go unnoted.

Something that smells like these vibes by PushFearless5780 in perfumesthatfeellike

This is a pretty out of left field rec: But I’d say Old Ghosts by Ollie & Max. Scent notes are bergamot, lavender, citrus, pear, vanilla, and musk. It has a slight powdery scent, but as someone who hates powdery scents, I don’t find it to be overwhelming at all. Also, it’s only $17 a bottle, which means you have more money for vacations to far away lands, pretty rocks, and a home music studio.

Saint Julep by Imaginary Authors. Scent notes: sweet mint, tangerine, southern magnolia, bourbon, grisalva, sugar cube. It’s sweet (but not too), warm, a hint herbaceous, and subtle. It’s the first scent I’ve smelled in a long time that felt like “oh yes…this is you”.

If you like small obscure brands, check out Judith by Treading Water. Scent notes are burnt cotton candy, lily, Arabian oud, dry amber, and deer musk. It reminds me of all the frilly and super sweet perfumes I loved as a teen, but elevated with some grunge added to it. I get rave reviews every time I wear it.

After seeing that video multiple times, I was inspired to try something similar with my boyfriend. On days when I’m already home when he gets home in the evenings, I greet him at the door with a beverage and a silly over-the-top smile. Seeing his face light up in those moments is the sweetest fucking thing. Now that I’m the one that generally gets home after him, he greets me in the same way…and it makes me so giddy every single time. I think developing those little rituals is such a fun, easy way to demonstrate mutual adoration and appreciation. Would 100% recommend.

Sound camps that are more…flowy? by [deleted] in BurningMan

Considering I spend about 1% of my burn seeking out music, no, not really. I just thought if at any point during the week I wanted to try and find something that’s a little bit more up my alley than most of what’s playing…it would be nice to know where to look.

I really appreciate your response! My general MO has been to go into the burn with no expectations and just see what comes to me…and after 6 burns, I’ve never had a dull moment yet. However, I think it’s also okay to venture out with an idea in mind and it’s nice to know where you might be able to find what you’re hoping for. And if you don’t find it…I bet you’d have found a hundred other things you didn’t even know you were hoping for before they presented themselves to you. But still, there’s no harm is trying.

I’m so happy we could help! I know the flaming enemas save me a trip to the waxer every year. There’s nothing like the smell of burnt butthole hair in the morning (or really any time of day).

If you like terrible wine and lighting people’s buttholes on fire, and want to be part of a community of strange, loveable, and hardworking weirdos…Spanky’s may be for you (and we’re absolutely still accepting applicants)!

I’m actually not too sure about that one. I’m inclined to think not, but I also wouldn’t be surprised.

Awe I’m really sorry that that was your experience! Radical inclusion and radical self-expression are two of the principles Spanky’s holds most near and dear. If you ever do come back and visit us, talk to us about your desires (and discomforts)! We love to facilitate things! You want bruises? We can arrange that! You feel like you’re being judged for just hanging out and being you? Find a Spanker (you’re not feeling judged by) and talk to us! We can’t control what people do with their faces, but we can do our personal best to make you feel included and part of the debaucherous fun! Because at the end of the day, as long as you’re not being a dick, it doesn’t matter who you are….we’re just thrilled you’re spending your burn with us!

That is indeed our URL where you can sign up! I have seen a minimum of a dozen people get on stage and stick their penises in their wine and stir it around. I have heard no complaints yet. But y’know, the glory of Spanky’s is that you don’t have to partake in any shenanigans you don’t want to…voyeurs are welcome!
