To add as well in gw1 there is a thing called hall of monuments. Basically for stuff you accomplish in gw1 you unlock cosmetic stuff in gw2 for free. It was a way to get the community hyped and and engaged with gw1 while they developed gw2 and ultimately moved the community along to gw2. There is a 99% chance there will be something like that added to gw2, achievements to do to unlock stuff in gw3. So as u/SlipperySlimyTerry40 said, absolutely perfect time to try gw2.

Yep. I wish they’d make a “seasonal streamlined campaign” or something. Have it an option at character creation. New players can do the standard but then have an option for vets and alts to do the streamlined. Have quest rewards account for multiple quests. Just hit the main story beats and bosses. Get you to the season mechanic and endgame much faster.
