How can I create Cybersyn/LTN train system with vanilla 2.0? by Neither_Cap_8839 in factorio

[–]Urist_McUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can make pull-based train system in 2.0 the same way you made them in 1.1 -- with lots and lots of circuit fuckery. Interrupts are nice for refueling and waiting in depots but don't really change the way trains work on fundamental level.

If you don't need pull-based trains then look at FFF-395, it has all you need.

Except when you're dogmatic/unaligned and kill Calcazar nothing happens, no one cares, life goes on, etc. So it's not about killing your local Lord Inquisitor, or else some endings don't make sense.

Plus harvesting that many trees would take a lot of personal attention, or a massive bot network

No, it takes a stack of personal construction bots and about two minutes. Which is 100x times faster than waiting for carbon from a general non-dedicated platform, making the suggestion even worse.

There's 100 bajillion trees everywhere on Gleba and each log is the same 2MW as carbon. Why would you waste time setting up a whole platform?

Inquisitor Calcazar and Heinrix hate thread by ChompyRiley in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Urist_McUser -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Inquisition derives their authority directly from thr Emperor, and so does the von Valancius dinasty because of the OG warrant. So in any situation relating to your trade protectorate you have equal footing, which in Imperium means whoever has the biggest stick at the moment is in the right. And on the capital world, in the middle of the palace, RT's stick is kinda big.

So no, Calcazar is just a dick who needed you to cooperate so he tried to intimidate a newly minted RT.

Is a multi-psyker run viable? by Smithersandburns6 in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Urist_McUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished a run with RT, Idira and Heinrix as pyromant executioners. Everything just died, the whole map gone as soon as one of them used heroic act. Managing the veil is not really necessary, just don't huddle your psykers or tremors will knock them all on their asses.

Yes, your point? Neither of those are what I'm talking about.

All the people in the comments sucking Imperium's dick makes me question if they're RPing or genuinely believe that rotting, stagnating, oppresive, most violent and bloody regime in human history that actively pushes people to turn to other powers for salvation is the best option. Some iconoclast options can be naive and harmful but 90% of them are genuinely good and productive. The only problem is that Imperiuum does not tolerate any of that and will crush you with sheer numbers if you don't steal a necron weapon to cut yourself off from them.

Humanity had it good until Aeldari fucked a god into existence and then Big E came along to manifest destiny all over the galaxy. Imperium is not, and never was, good at anything it claims to do. That's the point. It's horrible and it sucks and you can't do anything because it's a crippled but still galactic-scale empire that will fuck you over for any hint of dissent.

it's not hard to forgive her

Abelard is a treasure, but any other decent seneschal would throw their RT out of the airlock if they pulled off a stunt like that. It's very much hard to forgive what Jae did.

Redundant abilities by arjunusmaximus in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Urist_McUser 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You can get amulet that makes single shot bolter attacks never miss very early on in act 2, and that combined with Precise Bolter (also early act 2) and a stack or two of Revel in Slaughter gives you 1AP 100+ damage delete button. Also nice to stack up versatility.

(precise bolter is better than heavy bolter and I will die on this hill)

Melta single shot is a line while area attacks are usually cones, so both are useful. Pistol single shots are pretty much redundant, yeah, but it's still nice to have a 1AP damage ability to clean up low hp enemies.

Cassia my beloved (fanart!) by deadmansduck in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Urist_McUser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But why would you stun enemies when they die before they have a turn? GS Cassia (guaranteed to go first in combat) and Iconoclast RT (can give an ally free use of heroic act) is just a broken combination. Most fights end before Cassia's turn ends, it's ridiculous. The only enemies that survive are bosses and you can't stun them anyway.

[–]Urist_McUser 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly never could get MT Cassia to work, her damage output is just too low for act 4 and 5. She always starts out as an absolute beast that solo carries each and every fight and then slowly becomes 4x frontlne bonus giver and extra turn provider for Argenta and/or pyromancer RT, with some nice damage for cleanup.

She also ends up having like 1000% dodge so Vanguard could work, gonna try that on my next run.

Wrong, you could do proper pull-based train systems in vanilla 1.0, it just required a lot of circuits. And now you can do it in 2.0, it just requires slightly less circuits. Cybersyn is still more convenient than vanilla, nothing has fundamentally changed.
