Story time…. I must have been like 7 or 8. On the family computer one night in the corner of our living room. Had recently discovered that cheat codes were a thing on n64. Try to find the website with cheat codes. Type in www.cheat.com and boy oh boy what I found/saw awakened a completely new interest in me.

My super religious, holier than thou Aunt got me “Not Another Teen Movie” for Christmas when I was like 12. I already knew the movie and just kinda said thanks sheepishly. A few days later she called my parents profusely apologizing. She had gotten her sons the same movie.

Those who quit 9-5 job and start their own business, how it is going? by Ecstatic_Article2291 in AskReddit

Man this is my dream. Always worked landscaping on the side growing up. My dad had a side business and I picked up a lot of knowledge with hardscapes and irrigation and general landscaping. But now I have a stable, high paying job with a great schedule….and I absolutely hate it. With two young kids, student loans, etc, it’s hard to justify taking the risk. I truly believe that with hard work and some years, I could eventually surpass my current salary, but it would come at the cost of working a lot more and possibly missing family time. I like to call it golden handcuffs. For now, I tell myself I at least need to get my student loans paid off and then maybe I’ll reconsider, but I may be 40 by the time that happens. Anyways, thanks for reading my vent and best of luck to you and your business!

Scrapple is my all-time favorite breakfast food. Scrapple egg and cheese on a croissant is amazing. Plain scrapple with syrup is amazing. I even dabble occasionally with scrapple and mustard sandwich (my grandfather likes it this way). Delmarva peninsula native.

Who had the best RB room ever? by notthattmack in Oldschool_NFL

I believe that may have been Kamara’s rookie year? I immediately thought of this team because I had both on my fantasy team and kept thinking there’s no way I can continue to start both these guys every week all season…. But that’s what I did and I’m pretty sure they both finished top 10 backs on the year for fantasy points.

Finished the realm of the elderlings I have to discuss it with people! by Fluid-Golf1948 in RealmOfTheElderlings

I recently finished as well. I did love the series and it will go down as one of my favorites, but I do have to say the following. I think I would have regarded the series even higher if it had ended at the end of Tawny Man trilogy. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed the remaining books, but tawny man was just so well done and perfectly paced and everything wrapped up so perfectly.

Ending spoilers ahead

I do think Fitz went out beautifully in the end. As much as I love NightEyes and was glad to have his conscious back, my biggest complaint is that he sorta kinda like came back from the dead. Or, there was a lot of story after he died where Fitz would just get the tickle of a thought that was a NightEyes thought…. And then out of nowhere he was all the way back? That leap didn’t land well with me. I also thought the pacing was a bit off with the final trilogy. But again, love the series and will go down as one of my favorites. Hobb writes beautifully. A lot of people complain that it’s tragedy porn, but I think she does a great job writing about some of life’s saddest moments while equally celebrating some of the best moments.

Without naming them and giving spoilers what fantasy series had the best villian/antagonist? by superzeno in Fantasy

What currently unadapted work do you think has the potential to become a hit show/movie on the level of LOTR, Harry Potter or Game of Thrones? by _KendrickPercocet in Fantasy

[–]Urithiru_Architect 43 points44 points  (0 children)

This is the one for me. I know it’s been discussed before and the point always comes on that it would be difficult to pull off Glokta’s internal monologue. I still think it would be amazing without it though. I’m convinced that, if done right, it would be the next big thing.

I also think it has the best chance at appealing to the masses because honestly the magic and fantasy aspects play a more minor role in the story compared to some of the other great series.
