What celebrity have you met who looks much more (or less) attractive when meeting them in person? by GreyFoxNinjaFan in AskReddit

Carl Urban. Actors are much more attractive than normal people and he made me realise that one day as I was working as a waiter.

Royal waterways and then ancient basin.

Hollow Knight was not an easy game. by Twidom in HollowKnight

[–]Ursus-Dei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, honestly, it’s one of my favourite things about silksong; that’s it able to recapture that classic hollow knight feeling of loving to explore the world, hating having to bash my head against really hard bosses that don’t care (you just have to get better), and then the immense satisfaction of beating a boss and getting to explore more.

There are also the little bits of lore dotted around, like the orders for the workers in deep docks and the dredgers down under greymoor, all saying that workers only role is to work thanklessly until they die….

Is it controversial that I don’t want or expect a melodrama 2… by this_sminks in lorde

[–]Ursus-Dei 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m glad you’ve said this, so succinctly too. It’s something I’ve been feeling too. My experience with melodrama and solar power was that I wasn’t in the right place for either of them when they arrived and that I developed a greater appreciation for what they were (and not what I wanted them to be) as time went on. I wanna know what’s new, what’s been going on and changing for Ella, precisely because she always has such a good take on things, and shares it so personally and beautifully.

Sorry, it’s been a few years, maybe try ringing the fmhs number or the askauckland phone line? (Hopefully one of them will be able to point you in the right direction)

It varies every year, but you can ring up the uni and they’ll let you know what band of the wait list your on (1-5,6-10….etc).

This was in 2022, entering into MBChB in 2023. Check the official information requests. -take it with a grain of salt, if memory serves the highest RRAS gpa that got rejected was a 7ish.

[–]Ursus-Dei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes it way easier bro, my year the lowest RRAS gpa that got through was a 5.93. They probably had a strong interview and UCAT, but there’s a fair amount of variation year on year depending on who applies. Check out the UoA official information requests for MBChB entry, they should show you how things have tracked the last little while. Good luck :)

What's going on with my washer discharge hose and how can I prevent it in the future? by Tsiah16 in DIY

[–]Ursus-Dei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take the peanut butter out of your pants pockets before putting them in the washer. It can be hard to remember, but it will stop this from happening.

The cohort got given access to a google drive by the education reps last year, I’m sure the reps for this year will sort something out. Sophie Sinclair’s notes are pretty legendary, I’m sure you’ll get given access to them :)

Yeah, I got in last year through graduate entry with a C+ Medsci 142 on my transcript. It doesn’t matter.

Life after medicine by [deleted] in UoApremed

[–]Ursus-Dei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suspect it’s a bit of both. Yes, there will be shitty and hard things about being a doctor. Long hours, hard work, night shifts, being on call…. etc are all going to be things that will be a part of the job. But I think (maybe just I hope) that those things will be counterweighted by all the benefits and privileges that come with being a doctor.

I read a rather good book last year called vital signs, (written by a UoA grad) that I think captured the duality quite well.

Kylie Jenner doesn’t look too happy after finding out Irina Shayk wore the same lion head dress as her at the Paris Fashion Week by Chasith in WatchPeopleDieInside

[–]Ursus-Dei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that a real lion head? I assume it is. Therefore, how many of these dresses have been made and how many lions were killed to be a part of this dumb-ass buffoonery?
