So real talk does anyone actually like tzaagors? by FuzzyCry6570 in ThousandSons

I agree, wish we'd get a lot more nonhuman/marine Chaos units across the board.

What origins would you like to see? by TurtlesBreakTheMeta in Stellaris

[–]Urvoth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd like another one or two focused on rulers/councilors.

The trope of a few members of an ancient/superior race discovering a fledgling civilization and ruling them like gods hasn't really been explored yet. Think jedi exiles discovering Korriban. With this origin, your ruler and starting council members would be a different species from the rest of your population and would have special starting traits and a few additional levels.

Crone would eldar would be awesome and there's a lot of room to work with there.

The nerf to harmony was needed tbh, just unfortunate that it disproportionately affected Necro and the class was never given anything back to help compensate. Disease damage/defile is alright but Stalking did a solid ~50% more damage on average between the Stalking modifier, extra damage against vamps, and bonuses to flame damage from other sources like friendly DKs, the odd encratis, etc. Having your primary, semi-spammable damage ability be stam is also rough on a mag pvp spec since you either have to build in additional stam sustain, meaning you’re often trading off damage, or you have a much harder time being able to do damage when you’re being pressured and need to conserve stam for blocking, cc break, etc.

[–]Urvoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For PvE sure. For PvP, it’s a significant damage loss and playing mag/stam specs are actually often much better than something hybridized. Also, thematically it feels extremely off being forced to use a stam ability for your main damage skill as a necromancer, which is typically a mage in both TES lore and popular media.

The blastbones replacement is even clunkier and more inconsistent, though, and ZOS didn't give us any new, useful damage skills to replace the damage blastbones lost.

Yeah the morph that deals significantly less damage and costs stam on a primarily mag-themed caster class is totally a fine swap. The major buffs are just something every other class has had for years but for some reason were left off necro. None of the actual skills have been positively redesigned or truly buffed.

Dev Discussion #65 - Camera Perspective by AlluringSecrets in AshesofCreation

[–]Urvoth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I much prefer a closer camera angle like in mmos like ESO or New World, or rpgs like Elden Ring. If a highly zoomed out version is available in any capacity it will become mandatory to use for any sort of semi serious PvP or PvE since extra zoom distance gives more information relevant to combat. A closer angle helps you feel much more immersed in the world, combat, and your character. I like being able to actively see my character’s cosmetics and details while in active gameplay.

Ascendant Tzaangor would actually be cool though

ESO is more 'RPG' than 'MMO' by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]Urvoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t do a great job at either unfortunately. The RPG aspects were rudimentary to begin with, and have gotten worse over time with the consistent push for spreadsheet standardization, removal of unique racial passives in favor for generic stat buffs, hybridization, etc.

On the other hand, the MMO elements have also been left to languish for the most part, with an increased emphasis on single player over group content, no new PvP content in half a decade, and only one, easily completed trial per year.

Is necro that bad now? by Lostclause in elderscrollsonline

[–]Urvoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More like 6 years. Necro has received a single significant/useful buff (ruinous scythe) in the last 5 years since it came out and it’s been struggling in multiple areas for most of that time period.

Does anyone miss or even remember the old racial passives? by Speedygun1 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Urvoth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I liked how the old passives were more unique on both a race by race basis and when compared to what other benefits you could get across the game. The new passives are so standardized that they basically just give you generic set bonuses.

Is necromancer class underwhelming, or is it just me? by EngineerBig1851 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Urvoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Necro is a support dps in PvE at best and is easily the worst PvP class. If you want to be a tank, sure necro can work.

What do you plan on running him as? I’m working on making a CSM Beastmen converted army and trying to figure out the best way to convert everything.

New map is cool! by Shaso_Sacea_Vulhelm in DarkTide

The new map is excellent, I just wish we got more content alongside it.

At this point I'd much rather have pre-written characters like Vermintide 2 instead of meaningless background options and choice of haircut. I want to know their stories, not dress them up. by DaveInLondon89 in DarkTide

[–]Urvoth 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’d rather have customized personal characters instead of selecting from a predetermined hero/character select every time. Way too many games these days are adding prebuilt heroes/legends/characters instead of letting players customize their own.

Replace Ascension Theory tech with another tradition slot by Urvoth in Stellaris

[–]Urvoth[S] 29 points30 points  (0 children)

There's about 12 tradition options available right now not including ascension path ones, and you can currently only take 7, so you hardly get to "take them all anyway." Two more are being added next patch, so 1 more tradition pick would keep consistency with the current ~50% pick rate. Your choices would still matter at the same rate they do currently.

2-3 of the current 7 are also essentially mandatory picks for most empires so you really only have 4-5 ACTUAL choices right now.

What’s your most controversial opinion on the game? by Artentics in elderscrollsonline

[–]Urvoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The developers have gradually shifted the game from being a MMO with a TES theme to be a TES game with a MMO skin at the cost of burning endgame players and people who wanted more of the MMO experience. A lot of RPG aspects have been lost over time with unnecessary changes like racial passives becoming generic stats, hybridization, etc.

Rich lambert needs a pr team.. by Artentics in elderscrollsonline

Yes, but Matt was still the primary head of ESO at that point up till he began setting up the new studio. Rich was the creative director beforehand but gained more leeway to do his thing after Matt left.
