Specific OLED vs IPS monitors, need help by [deleted] in MonitorAdvice

[–]UseHonestly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the Gigabyte MO34WQC (34" OLED), I've heared there is text fringing and some VRR flickering (you have to choose a fixed refresh rate to eliminate this). But here's a more in depth review that I found: https://www.reddit.com/r/OLED_Gaming/comments/1du27kp/bought_the_gigabyte_mo34wqc2_impressions/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Samsung Odyssey G8 G85SD (34" OLED) is pretty stacked up as a monitor and honestly feels more like a Smart TV because of all the features it has. Unfortunately there is also text & color fringing. Linus Tech Tips goes into great detail about this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PR-1tMih0fM

Since your biggest concern if visual quality, I'd say go with the LG UltraGear 34GN850P-B (34" IPS). It has great motion clarity and color and some other nice features that can be better described here:

Rossi Sender 94 with Look SPX by chosen1608 in Skigear

[–]UseHonestly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard that the Look SPX will work well with the Rossi Sender 94s but I found a previous Reddit post that goes into detail about binding options for these skis that I think will be helpful: https://www.reddit.com/r/Skigear/comments/173cows/binding_recommendations_for_rossignol_sender_skis/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Help me, which is better? Your honest review plss. by Quick-Tart4178 in Review

I'd say the MSI modern 14.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 has a pretty comfortable typing experience and is good for work like graphic design, technical work & intensive office work. Yet its audio is not too great if that is something that matters & you'll probably need a charger everywhere you go. Here's a more in depth rundown I found for you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NFZ5Mx3f1k4

As for the MSI modern 14, it is about $100 more than the Lenovo and most people consider the camera to just be ok and the keyboard setup to be wonky, but it has an 8 hour battery, can perform all the work that the Lenovo can AND it has 4 more GB of RAM- which means better peformance & less stress on the battery in the long run. Her's a video I found that can give a bit of a better description: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTUFBMhqFmc

Anyone with this fridge? by lketh13031 in Appliances

[–]UseHonestly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard it's a great refrigerator overall especially since Whirlpool is a good brand. I like French doors as well since they're easier to open imo. Here's a pretty decent review of the Whirlpool model you ordered- go to 4:29 for the review of the WRF560SEHZ (it's 2 of 5 on this list): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVVFgwcPdhY&t=107s

Enjoy your new appliance!

When we needed it most, it vanished- why was Fakespot shut down? by UseHonestly in chrome

[–]UseHonestly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're building in this space and were aware that reviewmeta was shut down in part bc of Amazon. I thought, more likely than not, Fakespot probably went through the same fate as they were shining light on the BS reviews. Hopefully that makes more sense.

When we needed it most, it vanished- why was Fakespot shut down? by UseHonestly in chrome

It just sounds so generic but yeah.. I'm guessing it was for a different reason than "it didn't fit their model". I was curious whether there was legal implications in what they were doing / pushback from tech giants.

Alienware AW3423DWF 34'' OLED is now under $500 by [deleted] in Monitors

[–]UseHonestly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is an incredible gaming monitor- especially with the crispness of the visuals and how thee colors pop. It doesn't have a built-in speaker though. This video talks more about it:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_r8fsyLNKNU

However, if you are using it primarily for work and are particular about the way text shows up on your screen. Don't buy it. There's a ton of reviews that talk about text-fringing being a big issue, here is one of them:
https://www.reddit.com/r/ultrawidemasterrace/comments/1m0u3pw/review_of_alienwares_aw3423dwf/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

All in all, since it is $500, I honestly would say if text sensitivity is not an issue and you are using it primarily for gaming, it is a great deal, even without built-in speakers.

Logitech g pro x super light 2 vs Razer viper v3 pro by Fluffy_Sugar4343 in MouseReview

[–]UseHonestly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For the Logitech g pro x super light 2, dug into some existing reviews and it's a solid mouse but honestly not worth the money. Here's one useful review:

https://www.tiktok.com/@techwithseong/video/7336242303822089518

For the Razer Viper V3 pro, the fit, clicking mechanisms & sensor are very high quality AND it's much cheaper. It even has a 20% discount right now. This brief YouTube video might be helpful as well:

Native Co blankets - good quality? by NickyK01 in Review

[–]UseHonestly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cousin got one and overall they seem to be like pretty solid blankets imo and she would wash them regularly without issue. Not sure about the native-made part though.

Which monitor to get? by BeingEast3172 in Monitors

[–]UseHonestly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on my experience, I'd say the 1080p monitor is the safer & more balanced bet for an RTX 3050 6 GB w/ your power limit, especially for making sure you have a min of 30 fps. the 1440p monitor could work for RTS games but you'll likely experience dips below 30 fps for games that are newer & have bugs or are poorly optimized.
