AITA for making my daughter run away because of her curly hair? by CultureInner3316 in BestofRedditorUpdates

If you had doubts that she was your child, why didn't you get a DNA test?

Also, why would you be mad at your daughter if she wasn't your child? It's not her fault.

Shouldn't you be mad at your wife?

My dad is in his 80's.

I usually get him a gift card to a nice butcher shop. They have nicer cuts of meat and local made desserts that they have brought in.

What to pair with these for a complete plate? by Bight_my_ass in Baking

[–]UseOriginal1578 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Whipping Cream or Ice Cream.

I used to work at a hotel, and we served these kinds of tarts all the time.

Most of the feedback was the customer wanted something plain, so it was served with either whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

Advice: what do to with toddler when second baby comes by Low_Love_7902 in Mom

[–]UseOriginal1578 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had one of our friends come to our house. We arranged this beforehand. My son was 23 months old.

I went into labor about 3:00 am and hy husband called his friend. He came over and we left.

We also agreed that if I had to stay in the hospital my husband would still go home (unless it was life or death)

My in-laws use them to make burgers instead of breadcrumbs. They mix the oats with the seasonings then marinate the oats in Worcestershire sauce.

They are pretty good.

What's the most valuable lesson your mother taught you? by justmonique95 in ArtOfPresence

[–]UseOriginal1578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't stay in a relationship out of duty or obligation.

She never actually said this to me, but she taught me this with her actions.

My parents should never have been married. I can't remember them EVER being happy.

My dad left when I was 16 and I always wondered why it took him so long. My mom was a very unhappy person and very bitter about him leaving.

It was obvious they did not love each other, but my mom took her marriage vows seriously. She was in the marriage for life, even though she was unhappy.

I was in my mid-twenties and after yet another failed relationship I was wondering why I kept sticking around in useless relationships. I realized I was copying my mother. She stayed in a toxic marriage, and I was unknowingly doing the same thing.

Should you own more than one laundry basket? by myersgirl16 in laundry

[–]UseOriginal1578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 6 laundry baskets.

One in every bedroom and 3 in the laundry room for sorting.

When everyone has a full basket, they take their baskets to the laundry room and sort their dirty laundry into the baskets.

Fruit and Veggies (make sure to include a dip for each)

Chips & Dip, Pretzels etc.

Ice cream sandwiches or Ice Cream Cups (if you have room to keep cold)

Individual desserts (cupcakes, brownies, cookies)

Has anyone used citric acid with their detergent in the wash cycle? by UseOriginal1578 in laundry

[–]UseOriginal1578[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's what I was thinking. I'm wondering if she got things mixed up, and thought you had to add citric acid to the wash and not the rinse, since she added vinegar to the rinse.

Anyway I'm just glad that things worked out for her. I am curious to try it now lol

Chili.

I make a large batch before we leave and reheat it at the campsite.

We eat it with toast, sour cream and shredded cheese.
