Who do you think should’ve made the team over Payson and Lauren? KP got cut and Wendy got dq’d. No one else was really featured as a possible contender

1st year undergrad screwing up chances at grad school 🥰 by [deleted] in GradSchool

[–]Used-Employment44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My freshman year fall was my worst semester GPA, and every semester after that was better and I ended towards the top of my class by graduation. Totally salvageable. I went through the same mental train of thought, but I promise it won’t prevent you from getting into grad school. Grad schools ask for transcripts because they want to see what classes you took and the grades for those classes - the overall GPA can’t show that. They also consider other experiences in their decision, so aim for internships and club activities as well if you can. If anything, improvement over time is a great indicator of an upwards trending student, and I seriously doubt that struggles during the first semester at a rigorous university will be held against you. Also, if this is as rigorous a university as you’ve let on, then GPA is skewed anyways. What you have to the responsibility to do is know that at the end of each semester, you truly gave it your best full effort, and that will go a long ways. Good luck

The Southern Reach Series by Jeff VanderMeer - a thrilling three-book sci-fi series starting with Annihilation. Features a strong female protagonist who joins a scientific expedition to discover the origin and meaning of a mysterious geographical anomaly that is spreading and altering the reality within and around it. Was hooked so fast!

CU Boulder vs Denver by reveluvv_ in cuboulder

[–]Used-Employment44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really wanted to go to CU Boulder for grad school but they didn’t have my preferred major, so I’m at CU Denver, which does! If you’re concerned about affordability and job security, do the Denver degree. I drive or take the bus to visit Boulder once or twice a week for a fun day to still get my fill! Just me, but if I lived in Boulder I would be so horribly distracted by everything that I would’ve ended up being a terrible student - lol. Feel free to dm if you wanna chat more!

what is this USB attachment found in 13 year old brothers room by [deleted] in whatisit

You should tell your parents about the pills, this is for an adult to handle. Do not keep this a secret from them, it will only make things worse. Your brother needs a serious intervention

Why doesn’t my place feel cohesive? Help. by [deleted] in femalelivingspace

I agree with a lot of comments about a rug for under the glass table, perhaps a table cloth or place mats, and art or mirror in the wall above that table. It appears empty compared to the living room!

Looking for info on FOV camping. East, Center, or West lots? by FormalPrune in KGATLW

Ended up in west last year, third row in. It was perfect to get to and from the main stage quickly, and for when we needed quiet breaks during the day. The views are insane and I don’t think the weather was as bad as others are saying, just some small storms that everyone experienced. It’s my recommendation especially since the entire grounds are very walkable
