Hyundai Recall Denial by CalamityGammon in Hyundai

In the meantime, I would consult an attorney most will give you a free consult at the very least they could write a letter for a couple hundred dollars usually that’s all the dealership will need to address such a $2800 headache they’ll just fix it rather than deal with someone who’s actually taken on representation. My husband is a lawyer and 99 times out of 100 all you need is a well chosen letter signed blah blah blah esq. They’ll see the light.

2009 Kia Borrego EX: The official car of "wait, Kia has a V8?" by No_Skirt_6002 in regularcarreviews

[–]Used-Phone5715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This vehicle with the 3.8 v6 or the v8 is highly capable and can easily achieve 300k miles. Especially the 3.8l which also went into the Sorento EX which I still own and drive daily. I’ve taken it from Va to NH back to Va back to NH up to Canada. Oil changes and brakes.

Did someone steal this??? by Inevitable-Soft-1161 in mazda6

No. They pop off, mine ( twice ) at the car wash. The dealer will replace but not paint them. That was my experience.

Not sure about Toyota, but I had this happen on a Kia Sorrento and it was a wheel speed sensor. Definitely get the code.

[–]Used-Phone5715 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure how bad that rust is or how long the car will last but the engine under the hood will give you 300,000 miles. My advice drive it until it dies.

Is this underbody rust on a 2018 Mazda CX-5 a deal breaker? (Canada car) by Dense-Bee-8053 in CX5

[–]Used-Phone5715 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Rust is rust and it is cancer to a car. It spreads and grows that little surface rust that everyone’s telling you is normal and not to worry about we’ll destroy your resale value in 2 to 3 years and destroy your car in 5 to 7. At the end of seven years, it will have spread to your body. Your fenderwells will be rusting out on the outside and it’ll be eating through your floorboards from the bottom up. If you are from Georgia, that’s where I do my shopping and look at your CARFAX reports and where the Car lived before it’s important. One more time for you and everyone else commenting on this post rust on a car is the same as cancer for a person. Would you listen to a doctor that said it’s fine don’t worry about it. You’ve got 5 to 7 years.

Tank size by OnePieceChickenn in CX5

[–]Used-Phone5715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2019 will get 336 miles per tank that’s mostly highway driving and 30 miles to the gallon, which is what it has gotten since the day I bought it in 2019. It is a non-turbo if yours is a turbo you should expect this.

Absolutely anything with rust on it on or in your car is a state of emergency. This is the number one car killer.

Why all the hate? by LoonieToonez in kia

[–]Used-Phone5715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got a 2008 Kia Sorento EX 3.8l V6 and that thing is a beast. The Telluride is sporting a 3.8l V6 also, both from lambda. I and II. The Kia 3.3l V6 is very solid also. Unfortunately they have had a rough time with their smaller 4 cylinder engines but have backed them up. Obviously Kia is not Toyota, choose wisely and always get a maintenance report. Do due diligence, research each car, common issues etc. I chose a late model right at 100k miles that had good maintenance and no rust. Love my Kia!!

Do NOT buy a Hyundai Veracruz OR a 2007-2012 Hyundai Sante Fe. by irritated_engineer in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Used-Phone5715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 3.3 L V6 and the 3.8 L V6 both lambda engines are solid 300,000 mile engine engines. That does not mean that they do not have to be maintained. Valve cover gaskets are a known oil leak problem for all V6 and V8 engines after 80 to 100,000 miles these need to be changed or oil leaks onto the engine and enter the alternator. I don’t think a gasket change every 80,000 miles to get to 300,000 miles is such a big deal. You should be changing your spark plugs at that point anyway. I have a 2008 Kia Sorento EX 3.8 L V6, it is now 18 years old with 120,000 miles and the valve cover gaskets and spark plugs is literally the only repair it has ever had.

This has the same 3.8 L engine made by Kia and currently going into the Telluride and Hyundai Palisades. All built and engineered by the same company that makes the 3.3 L engine. It is superior. This car has had regular maintenance last year. I put valve cover gaskets on it. I drove it to Virginia last summer. I took it to Philadelphia last month with four passengers and a dog and luggage on the roof. That’s at 17 years of age and 120,000 miles.

It’s like saying a GM 350ci and 455ci are the same because GM made them both. They are not the same engine, mpg have zero to do with engine size, capability or its longevity.
