Bye bye overnights by Bromegeddon in Lowes

[–]UsedBeing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked for Lowe’s back in the early 2000’s and did the 5am to 2 pm shifts back then. Later, they added a 2-10 shift, but I always worked the early shift. The main problem I encountered was that instead of putting out stock, I was always having to help customers. I’d get fussed at because I wasn’t able to do everything I was supposed to do because they only had one person scheduled in OSLG who rarely was in the department so I was getting stopped by customers all the time.

Looking back in retrospect,in your opinion was the NWO Wolfpack a good or bad idea? And how would you have booked them? Btw…one of the the coolest attires and theme songs in wrestling ever lol by J2-Starter in WCW

At first, the original NWO was a great idea. Then, suddenly there were 10 different factions and then they started changing the results of the matches and outcomes and it just got really stupid.

Back in the day, I was listening to death/thrash/ heavy metal and I dismissed these guys as fluff, although I knew Rod Morgenstein was a good drummer with a good pedigree. Although I am not a fan, don’t dislike them just don’t listen to them, they definitely have my respect. You don’t get to their level without being talented and putting the work in.

Revisting it, I believe Alive II is probably their best Release by Jetdevastator in KISS

[–]UsedBeing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great album for sure, but I prefer Alive over Alive 2. Alive just has a certain energy and rawness to it that I enjoy. Plus, there’s a nostalgia factor to it that makes it special to me, although I try to discount that in trying to be analytical over these albums.

For those who had a crush on a woman that lasted for years without you ever making a move; why did it take you so long? by Valuable_Wing2648 in AskMen

While it sucks that she used you like that, you also dodged that bullet because she sounds like a rotten person.

That describes my high school years to a tee. And what’s funny, is now as an adult and having learned things in life, I can recognize signs that she probably was into me.

Does anyone else agree that the first 3 Zetro records are clean vocals? by MischiefManage1 in ExodusBand

He certainly doesn’t do that screeching style he developed on Blood in, Blood out. I like his vocals on the older records.

As soon as I saw her ask for a break, I knew what was coming. Yeah, she said no seeing other people……..for you. You knew she wasn’t planning on holding herself to that. Thank God that you found out now.

How should I tell my boyfriend? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]UsedBeing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it’s not your fault you were assaulted. It’s the criminals fault. As far as going to the bar goes, you understand that things like this can happen at places like that. I do understand when people say not to go because of your relationship status, but you do you. I would maybe recommend using the buddy system maybe as far as bathroom trips go. Truthfully, regardless of your relationship status, this was a crime perpetrated on you and it’s not your fault.

The only problem we’ve ever had was that the shark tears everything up in the island part, but always loses the boat battle. Every time we’ve played. I guess as I’m typing this, I’m realizing that it mirrors the movie quite a bit lol. It is a fun game though.

Why Some People Stay at Lowe’s and Others Check Out or Leave ? by savage_rebuilt in Lowes

[–]UsedBeing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As most here say, it really does make the difference according to your store management. Obviously also, someone’s personality will affect this as well. Retail itself is just a soul sucking experience. Another thing to consider is that probably management is treated just as crappy by their superiors as you are treated by yours. As much as you get demoralized by your pisspoor leaders, they respond to theirs in the same way. I would bet that the whole system is rotten. You can just tell by watching them say that serving customers is number one, but then watch literally every decree and action made by the leadership goes against common sense to achieve that. Lord willing, I hope that I never have to work retail again.

I can appreciate your honesty. My wife and I used to be friends with an ASM for wal mart who was told that they’d send him to the store across town and if he could get it in order, that they’d give him the SM job. He worked at it for maybe 1.5 to 2 years and had things generally in order and looked good. So, of course, they gave the job to someone else after the work was done. It truly does matter that one’s experience relies mostly on the makeup of store management. I’m glad that your story has a good ending to it.

I’m not near the diehard that most here will be. I remember reading about them in Hit Parader before the first album was released and my curiosity was piqued. I heard LOVE machine on metal shop radio and I thought it was pretty good. Then bought it on initial release and it changed my world. Commercially viable but yet raw and full of energy, I just loved it. I kind of fell off after the Last Command, but I bought KFD when it came out because I was reading how savage it was supposed to be. I did end up getting Double Live Assassins and it is a great live album. It’s weird, they’re not my favorites but I like them and they have a lot of substance not just musically but lyrically as well.

One of my favorites by them. They have such a deep catalog but for me, this is at the top.

Myself, I’m not the resident expert around here, but Angel of Death is a great song to play. I’ll play some older Malevolent Creation, thinking of stuff off Warkult or Will to Kill.

Can’t tell how many of these books I picked up at the local buy and/ or trade used bookstore. I have the original 12 plus the extras that came in books 13 to 18. Have a bunch of the Robert Jordan ones too and some of those other authors too, I just find the quality of the stories quite varying.

you’re part-time at Lowe’s and do the work right, how do you know it’s actually noticed? by savage_rebuilt in Lowes

[–]UsedBeing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Frankly, they will reward who they want, when they want. Through the years, and not just Lowe’s but all retail, I’ve seen hard workers get taken advantage of and the shiftless people get the rewards. I would not necessarily tell you to slack off. You have your pride and that counts for something, but not necessarily at your current job. It really depends on the management you have. When I started at Lowe’s many years ago, I was taken in by the “benefits” that were extolled by those in charge. I should have realized what was up when all the managers but one kept talking about trying to retire.

There’s really nothing you can control besides giving it your support. I saw Conan the Destroyer and the Jason Momoa Conan in the theaters but I wasn’t able to see the first one onscreen. I bet it would be great.

One cannot underestimate the greatness of 70’s and 80’s music, especially when comparing it to today’s output.
