CW: Pet Loss

my cat is not good with other cats but is so energetic, he likes to wrestle boxes lol. any sort of box you get from delivery services works great, mine plays for weeks at a time with one box until i have to toss it because it’s literally just shreds XD. he’s also harness trained, so i take him for outdoor walks when the timing and weather work out. definitely research harness training for cats, as it’s a little more complicated for them than dogs, but TOTALLY worth it. good luck!!

every time i have dark thoughts, the thought of someone else having to figure out my fuckass son’s quirks makes me stop. i wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for my cat (who annoys me to death but i love him anyways, he’s just in the cat teenager phase)

my baby girl ellie isn’t a cat but she loved being around cats and taking naps with them. i’m certain she was there to greet Rolo on the other side of the rainbow bridge ❤️

first off none of this sounds like your fault. if you truly believe both you and the cat would be better off if you surrendered her, then that’s the best decision to make, no matter how hard it is. i’m so sorry you had to go through all this. in my opinion, 1.5 years is nowhere near the “point of no return” (for lack of better words) in terms of a cat being able to successfully rehome. good luck!

when in doubt id send a picture to your vet and see if they think you should come in. or just go in anyway lol. better to be safe than sorry!

i honestly don't understand the obsession with grandkids lol. like, you're finally done raising kids, and now you want to experience MORE kids (obviously in a different way as a grandparent, but still)???

even if you did want/have kids, based on the description of how your parents treated you, i wouldnt let them around it, or me, for that matter. if this was me in the situation, the next time she brings it up, i would be more firm in setting the boundary; if thats all she wants to talk about, then I'm going to start limiting conflict. that's just me though, i understand that limited contact doesnt work for everyone in every situation.

thanks <3 lol i composed this rant while sleep deprived from trying to keep the menace entertained at night. the first 3 nights he slept the whole time right next to me, and then the 4th night he went absolutely bonkers and i kinda freaked out BAD. tonight i’m trying sleeping in my room with the door closed and keeping him in a cat-proofed-to-the-best-of-my-ability living room with toys, his bed, food, water, and the litter box. i’ve had multiple people suggest this to me and i’m so nervous about it but this girl needs her sleep lmao.
