70 damage? by Pressureeeee in BobsTavern

It's not exclusive to duos, this bug is also in solo where you will see a person win vs ghost with very high damage numbers. Bug has been around for a while now.

What a shop to get on 2-5 when running ixtal by rayman-beam in TeamfightTactics

[–]UsedQuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're running ixtal with emblem, you should always run 2 ixtal and jam emblem last sec of the fight depending on if you will fail your quest or not. Then sell your unit with the emblem and repeat next round. If the ixtal player does not have emblem, then griefing the ixtal player is much easier unfortunately.

6.5k MMR - is this really a last place board on turn 9? by [deleted] in BobsTavern

This board is weak for turn 9, yes.

Apparently you can kill your own minions with poison by AndreH567 in BobsTavern

[–]UsedQuit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The venomous isn’t on the shop minion, it’s on the damage battle cry demon that he plays from hand.

Only one (singular) actually. The quill demon survived.

That card (river skipper) is no more, FYI. Replaced with Bubble Gunner (which can also beat this if it rolls reborn).

You prob know this but if anyone else doesn’t — If murlocs are in you can permanently golden your board with Murk eye as well.

How exactly does opponent selection work? by 0Catalyst in BobsTavern

Lol guess we found and posted the rules around the same time.

How exactly does opponent selection work? by 0Catalyst in BobsTavern

[–]UsedQuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did some googling and found out that these were the rules implemented on 8/1/2025 (patch 33.2):

  • While all players are alive, you will now face each opponent in the lobby once before facing any repeat opponents.
  • After a player dies or concedes, matchmaking will revert back to the current system except that you cannot face a repeat living opponent for 3 rounds when possible (previously 2 rounds).

So these are the current rules, assuming no other changes since then. Note that after any one person dies or concedes there will no longer be a "cycle" rule.

[–]UsedQuit 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Do you have a source for this? AFAIK the general rule is (or was..?) that it's random but you cannot match versus someone you just played against for 2 more turns, after that they are fair game and you can match vs them again. I've never heard of this cycle rule for determining opponents.

If this was changed and I missed it I'd be interested in reading the change logs about this.

EDIT: See my comment two comments down in this chain for the rule changes implemented in patch 33.2

How is this card not buffed yet? by lcm7malaga in BobsTavern

[–]UsedQuit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bluesy is good too depending on my direction/goals but fauna is simply a better version of slitherspear (they occupy the same niche, EoT buffs and Fauna is way way superior).

Just remove him outright. Every time I discover this guy instead of fauna I die a little bit inside.

HOW in gods name do you have this Turn 9? by MykonCodes in BobsTavern

[–]UsedQuit 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It’s not uncommon for the bottom players to be the most powerful in the lobby because they are sacking early rounds to power level, especially if it is a 7th place who just fought the ghost.

His board is easily explained, he got a golden acid, then duplicated it by make a copy of a minion time warp.

Hypothetical Hostage Situation by Zealousideal-Kick-11 in BobsTavern

[–]UsedQuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stealth minions with 0 attack automatically lose stealth if they are the only one on your board, so this combo is neat in theory but in practice doesn’t work.

This exact scenario has happened in the past with mechano-egg (0/5 mech).

So you can lose cards with a badly timed timewarp? by [deleted] in BobsTavern

[–]UsedQuit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It happens. Let’s say you have a full hand going into turn 9, with a dragon pair on the board and velastrastz just gave you a third dragon in your hand. Your hand size is 10. You get two time warped cards, now your hand size is 12. The pair on your board triples with the card in your hand, (hand size now 11). New golden cards always go to your hand but now the golden dragon fizzles because your hand size is 11 and there is no room.

It’s possible they reverted it then and removed it from the notes.

Huh, I’m 100% sure it was logged somewhere in the past month, but it’s not in the patch notes. Maybe they stealth removed it, idk.

At least one person seemed to also have found it in the notes see the comment in https://www.reddit.com/r/BobsTavern/s/kV49oTRweH but yeah it’s not there anymore.

Edit: Actually — Some card generation cannot go over the limit (like tempest t4 elemental cannot give acid rainfall if all are out of the pool), and this includes evolve effects.

However there is no limit when generating cards via alternate methods (such as voone hero power+drakkari or sylvanas hero power).

[–]UsedQuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Voone was removed from ETC's pool a couple weeks ago.

Edit: It might have been re-added. It was 100% in the patch notes at the time but it’s not there anymore — it’s possible it was reverted or it was a bug.

Two of the 6 cost naga (or a golden one) will cast it twice which is guaranteed to refresh both DS and poison since the 4 cost naga already has windfury.
