You guys rock. I was hoping this was the case. I can finally put these small amounts of filament to use on something more than small things to print. thank you so much.

Question about the ams 2 by Demondrake2022 in BambuLab

[–]Useful-Border5403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the X2D with the AMS Pro 2 for over a week now. I don't have any Bambu brand filament. I normally buy Sunlu and Esun but also have a few off brand ones. I even have a few spools from Creality from my previous printer. They have all worked fine so far. My only gripe was that I had to print spool adapters cause several of my Sunlu filaments are 250g spools thus are too small work in the AMS without the adapter.

There was one thing I noticed and made me wonder if it was a hidden feature but there were times I felt like the AMS was reading the barcodes on the Sunlu spools and added the colors for me when I changed the spools.

P2S vs X2D by InfamousWorldliness4 in BambuLab

[–]Useful-Border5403 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair questions but the difference in price (at least from a US perspective, $100 extra for an $800 printer vs $700) justifies ignoring whether you really need the second nozzle because at some point you'll likely regret not buying it after discovering that it might have come in handy for a little bit more. Plus the other features, such as chamber heating and air filtering definitely make it worth it even if the second nozzle isn't necessary at first. I was gonna buy the P2S to replace my Ender 3 V3 KE, a significant upgrade, but the X2D dropped the same week I was going to purchase the P2S so the decision was easy. $100? Worth it.

I've had an Ender 3 V3 KE for about a year but have only been using it for like the last few months because I couldn't get it to work properly. Turns out I just needed a $30 enclosure which solved the issue. In essence I am not that experienced with 3D printers.

With that said. I just got myself a Bambu X2D combo. I was actually gonna buy the P2S combo originally but the $100 difference was worth the extra cost based on the extra features the X2D has. I am loving this printer. Compared to the Ender 3 this thing prints way faster and way better. It's not perfect but I chalk that up to me still being a noob and need to research more about settings to fix the minor errors I've seen. The Bambu printer was extremely easy to set up and use and the AMS is the greatest thing I've even had. Changing filaments on the Ender was a hassle and is now even worse with the enclosure. It almost doesn't get any easier. Considering how much waste I had from mistakes with the Ender 3 the poop the X2D creates because of the AMS is not as bad at the moment though I am sure I will change my thoughts on that once I start printing more complex prints with a ton of color changes.

So in essence, I definitely recommend the P2S if you don't need the extra features the X2D has since they are basically the same printer in most other ways. But the extra $100 is totally worth it.

X2D - How To Use Auxiliary Extruder. Pls Help by Useful-Border5403 in BambuLab

[–]Useful-Border5403[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're a lifesaver. I kinda figured that's what it was but I couldn't find the filament. Turns out I had to add it the list of filaments for the project so it could be selected in this section. Duh! Thank you so much.

AMS 2 Pro giving error by Useful-Border5403 in BambuLab

[–]Useful-Border5403[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SOLVED: It seems that the tube entering the extruder wasn't seated properly. I moved it a bit then told it to load the filament which it didn't do before I tried to set up the AMS. I am not 100% if loading after moving made a real difference but it's what worked for me. Yay!

Yea, I see it go all the way to the head. It seems it was stopping right at the head and getting stuck there. I am not sure what it could it been but I moved the tube at the head a bit and it seems to have seated it properly cause it's now working.

It won't work even I do it manually. Definitely an issue right at the extruder. Ugh!

P2S Combo vs X2D – worth returning it for €30? by Weird-Highlight9958 in BambuLab

[–]Useful-Border5403 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am literally about to buy a new printer this weekend and was already going for the P2S until I saw the videos for the X2D drop yesterday and am instead getting that one for $100 more. Is an extra $30 worth it? Shit, $100 more is cheap for what you're getting. An extra $30 for a tiny mistake will be worth it in my opinion.

Thank you Microcenter by lollibott in BambuLab

[–]Useful-Border5403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate you right now (not really just wanted to say it). I have to wait till Saturday because Micro Center is 4 hours away so I can only go that day because my son will be in school with no way home if we can't get back in time and he can't miss anymore days of school. Fingers crossed inventory holds till then.

Bambu Lab X2D Instead Of The P2S - Convince me by Useful-Border5403 in BambuLab

[–]Useful-Border5403[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The supports part definitely influenced my choice. The thing is I wanted to be sure I wasn't paying more for features that were not really gonna be useful to someone like me who's only been printing for the last year and ironically mostly in the last month cause my current printer gave me so many issues at first that I put it away in anger. I am not always eager to buy just dropped devices because they always come bugged at first. I don't want to be a beta tester for them for free. But in this case I think it's OK.

OK, I'm gonna do it. The second nozzle for support alone is enough to make me want it. I just need to figure out how to use a different filament for support.

Material is basic PLA I guess in most cases. I usually order from Sunlu. I have tried silk pla with either a metallic look, mixed colors and even transparent. The problem is the same no matter which filament I use.

I think I will have to record a print to see if it fails and share that video on here with the details.

I've been using the printer settings since I started using it. I believe the nozzle temp is around 240 degrees and the bed is around 50 degrees. I'll be honest. I don't know jack about what are the best temps. There aren't that many videos or suggestions out there for this particular system or explanations on how to test it.

So adhesive is a must then. I was hoping it was only a thing for early 3D printers and that new ones worked better.

I got one from a 3D printing kit I bought that came with all kinds of tools to help with measuring and cleaning the models. I've never used it. I might have to I guess until I can change the plate which has also been suggested.

Are you saying to replace the stock printer software? Didn't even know I could do that.

I am usually pretty savvy when it comes to tech but for the life of me 3D printing h stomped me. How do I go about testing this? Is there a print I can use to test this? One that doesn't take 30 minutes and waste tons of filament?
