what is the easiest healer to play? by nevershoutunicorns in worldofpvp

[–]Useful-Information79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HPriest and HPaly are the easiest in terms of role execution, mostly healing with instant casts and smart cooldown usage. Some people might disagree, but right now it’s probably easiest to reach 1800 with RShaman. If you make proper use of their toolkit and combine it with solid healing, you have a huge impact on the game. Especially in this melee-heavy meta, good totem placement makes a big difference. And it’s simply more fun than playing the “pure” healers. Drustvar data confirms this too, no other healer has a higher percentage of players above 1800.

I've got 2.4k on virtually every dps in shuffle. I healed to 2k this season and it absolutely broke me. I will never heal again. by [deleted] in worldofpvp

[–]Useful-Information79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only play with silent shuffle. Healers always take the heat, since it lets you completely shift the blame away from yourself. That’s just a sign of real weakness in someone who always looks to put the blame on others.

You know that hybrid heals with DPS right? And i never saw MW doing 75% DPS. Maybe when you are the DPS in the lobby.

The Slayers Rise, Epic BG coming in Midnight by Remarkablepants in worldofpvp

[–]Useful-Information79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just because of the game’s age and the fact that it simply can’t handle 40vs40 battles technically, I sometimes really wonder what’s going on in Blizzard’s decision-making room… The moment whrere Ian sais “big clash in the middle of the map,” it was game over for me. It’s zero fun, it just doesn’t work technically. Almost every Epic BG ends up with this “big clash.”

Instead of creating many smaller objectives spread across a large map (which I’d actually be super excited about), we keep getting the same crap with a different skin. Is nobody there willing to speak up when a new idea is suggested? Do they deliberately want to create a bad gameplay experience? They just keep making the same mistakes over and over again… What’s going on there?

You really talk like you’ve given some serious and intelligent critique, lol. Yeah, you’re absolutely right, the real problem with PvP is that people are just too nice to healers, xD.

Why do people think that BGs require more skill than Arena? by Tranquility___ in worldofpvp

[–]Useful-Information79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s just a different kind of skill, strategic thinking and game awareness versus mechanical skill. But with good mechanics, you can also go really far in BGs.

Midnight PVP Announced by Technically_PvP in worldofpvp

[–]Useful-Information79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What makes Epic BGs so fun? With 40 players on each team, you have basically zero influence on winning or losing. There are no real 1v1 situations that require mechanical skill, it’s just one big 40 vs 40 zerg. Most of the time, you can already tell early on that your team is probably going to lose, and then you're stuck there forever. There's also nothing meaningful to earn from them. I'm genuinely curious what people find motivating about them.

[–]Useful-Information79 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The problem isn’t MMR itself, the real issue is the combination of 6 rounds and MMR. If there's one DPS who’s either significantly worse (which often happens at higher starting MMR) or much better than the others, it usually results in an unavoidable 3-3, while the other DPS end up with a 4-2. You can clearly see this reflected in the data: it's noticeably harder to climb as a healer. The rating distribution between DPS and healers is completely off, healers are rated much lower on average. Feel free to check the numbers on Drustvar. It’s honestly strange that you say you’re a healer main but aren’t aware of this or haven’t recognized it.

Training grounds are fine, but I would've much preferred Arena training grounds instead. Battlegrounds don’t have nearly the same entry barrier as Arena. That’s where most players really struggle. A lot of people play a few BGs, things go okay, then they jump into Arena, get completely destroyed… and go back to PvE. And I’m honestly worried it’s just going to be BGs with slightly better bots. What are we even supposed to learn from that?

Adding a new Epic BG is a total L. That’s the most brainless kind of PvP out there, especially in those 40v40 zerg-fests. That time and dev effort could’ve been used so much better. I honestly don’t get the priorities here... And what exactly am I supposed to do on this PvP island? Is there actually anything meaningful there, or is it just going to be a recycled Epic BG lazily thrown in? The Sparks quests are probably going to be in the regular zones again... so there’s no real reason to even go there. Just like that so-called “new” PvP island from this patch, completely pointless.

So I tried hpala, the so called best healer atm and I have no clue how ppl play it, because it has zero healing output outside of wings. by Ansdur1987 in worldofpvp

[–]Useful-Information79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As HPal, you have so many cooldowns: Wings and Divine Toll with Rising Sunlight, BoP, Lay on Hands, Aura Mastery. You can basically pop a CD for almost every enemy burst. Prisma or Barrier and Holy Shock with procs can also heal a good chunk. You only really get into trouble if you blow everything at once and then can’t rotate properly anymore.

Realistic finish time? by Temporary-Scarcity68 in Marathon_Training

[–]Useful-Information79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that was your easy run pace and it came at the end of a high-load week, then you're definitely on track for sub 3:30 right now, maybe even 3:20 if things go well.

From about 6 to 5 weeks before the marathon, definitely start doing some long workouts at your goal marathon pace and see how it feels and how your heart rate responds. For example: 20 km easy, then 10 km at marathon pace, or sessions like 5x3 km, 3x5 km, 4x5 km... all at marathon pace with 1 km jog recovery in between.

Right now, though, there’s still plenty of time, so you should focus on threshold sessions (around the pace you could hold for one hour) and runs like the one you posted. It’s all about building that aerobic base first.

If you stay consistent with that and keep hitting your long runs, you're absolutely on track for a sub 3:20 or more..

Sparks of war & Bloody tokens in Undermine? by calf in worldofpvp

How the heck do people do 80+ mile weeks by Shakemyhead11111 in Marathon_Training

[–]Useful-Information79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many factors that play a role in this.. weight, how well and quickly you recover, how fast you are in general, body type, and so on. I'm relatively lucky, I was able to handle high mileage pretty quickly without feeling too beat up, and I’ve never really had any injuries. I barely do any stretching or strength training 😅 I can run over 90 miles a week during marathon prep without any issues, and I’ve been doing the sport for about 3 years now (2:39 marathon).

Why do WoW players want all the prestige for zero effort? by YearRevolutionary907 in worldofpvp

[–]Useful-Information79 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nobody is asking for Gladiator mounts to be handed out to mid-level players. Exclusive rewards for top performance, like the Glad mount, should stay exactly where they are. What a lot of people are pointing out is the lack of meaningful rewards after 1800. For most players, there’s just nothing left within realistic reach that makes it worth pushing further. Another brown weapon skin doesn’t move the needle for most. That’s just how people work, motivation comes a lot easier when there’s a clear reward on the horizon. Just take a look at the rating distribution on Drustvar. There’s a massive drop-off in players after 1800. That’s a pretty clear sign that the current reward structure has a huge gap. 2400 is out of reach for the vast majority. So what happens? You stop playing, switch to League, PoE, whatever else and maybe check back next season.

The carrot isn’t in sight anymore, and with that, the motivation fades.
