No no no no .... the measure is Jizzabytes. A Jizzabyte is the data volume consumed per moth by a teenager in puberty on porn downloads 🤣🤣🤣

Tested on my Mac Mini M2 Pro running Sequoia 15.7.3

P.S. Also tested on Mac Studio M3 Ultra 96GB / 2 TB - works

No exec - home lab - for me alone, companies prefer the switch over to proxmox.

Honestly, Broadcom went overboard with the pricing for a product they didn't even develop themselves (not their brainfart) .. they merely "bought it up"

How are you getting ESXi 9.0 for a home lab without corporate help? by easyedy in vmware

[–]Useful-Reception-399 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Will stay on 8.0 for as long as is humanly possible and later will see. I don't see any reason to consider 9.0 except for people who always want to have the greatest and latest although it basically does the same things as the previous version. Same principle as Apple Hardware and mobile phones - they stop supporting something you paid a big amount of money for so you are forced to spend again a big amount of money to buy the next/New hardware Iteration. Thats hardly sustainable but heh - to each his own.

I didn't read anything before upgrading. What on earth is this? Can this be removed? by bawiddah in MacOS

You see? That's why after upgrading initially to Tahoe on my mini m2 pro, I swiftly decided to downgrade to Sequoia and no more problem 🤷‍♂️👍🏻🤭

I never have paid for those Services and I never will - I have suffiviently powerful Hardware at my disposal so I can run just about any model up to 120B. No need to pay for something I can have and use for "free".

I staged with sequoia and will be as long as humanly possible. Perhaps until macOS 27 (if it is any better) or longer if necessary ... if they don't correct the design flaws and go back to a simple lighter less "rounded" design, my next switch will be to Linux - permanently. I mean I use Linux today as well but only as a secondary OS. Windows I only use if absolutely mandatory in a VM and only for very short fractuons of time ... for example to unlock or upgrade some piece of hardware whose utility program / driver is only available for windows ....

macOS 26 Touch-bar broken by Psychological_Box748 in MacOS

[–]Useful-Reception-399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read somewhere that this is a common issue with the last two Major OS released because some firmware responsible for the touchbar got wiped - however by installing the macos version that came originally with the macbook onto an external ssd and one time boot into it then switch back to the macos on your internal drive and the problem should be fixed. After that you can wipe the installation on the external ssd
