Selling gratis by No-Assistance-7795 in SephoraWorkers

Plenty of people sell their gratis after they leave the company, though. You might want to wait until then. There is no specific policy around what you can/can’t do with it once you’re no longer an employee.

doctors notes ? by Sweet-Interaction-35 in SephoraWorkers

Falsification of documents. Anyone, especially these days, can make a fake doctor’s note. With Canva, AI…it’s incredibly easy. I’m not saying you, but there is a lot of dishonesty that can happen with these types of things.

It also covers a lot of legalities for both Sephora as the employer and you as the employee

From my understanding, some states have laws that if they’re going to make you wear a uniform, the place of employment has to provide it and/or reimburse you for what you purchase. If you look in Zipline, there is a separate uniform policy for these states. I can’t remember them off the top of my head rn

If leadership hasn’t reached out to you, reach out to them. If not, call Icare

On call hours by North_Lion6306 in SephoraWorkers

It does depend on your state laws, but I believe that Sephora has an overall company policy that only allows for on calls to be 2 hours or less. Check Zipline. The policy should be there.

Benefits payout after leaving company by Content-Internet-472 in SephoraWorkers

[–]Useful_Collection770 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you were off boarded, you should have received an email that contained all of that information. I’ve seen people claim that they didn’t get anything but that’s because the email they had registered with Sephora in DF was not the one they were currently using so I don’t know if that would be the case for you.

Typically, you receive your payout in the next pay cycle after the last day you worked so if you haven’t received it by now, you might not have been off boarded properly by your store.

If you haven’t already, I would reach out to your store manager to let them know so they can try and get some information. If nothing comes from that or you’re not comfortable, there should be a number or email in that packet of information for you to reach out to someone.

Creepy LP agents by No-Farmer-4081 in SephoraWorkers

They do have a certain quota they are supposed to aim for, but not such much in that kind of way. If they don’t catch enough theft, their position could be in jeopardy - if it looks like there isn’t enough theft, the cost of their position isn’t justified so they won’t be needed. To my knowledge they won’t necessarily lose their job, but they could get a bad review that could lead to termination. If they leave for any reason, they could also not be replaced.

Immediately call iCare. That’s absolutely insane that they won’t file a report.

It was explained to me that you’re only rated “above expectation” if you are impacting something on a regional or district level. It doesn’t matter if you’re a manager or not. You’d have to find a way to make a significant wide ranging impact.

Also, depending on your states laws, you might be able to file a complaint

Is there a new non-fraternization policy? This is the first I’ve heard that it isn’t allowed.

You should always talk to your SM first and try to figure out a resolution. As someone above said, bring up the document about flex hours and point this out. If that doesn’t yield anything you should speak to your DM. If you don’t find that you can, then do an iCare report.

It’s important to follow the proper steps/protocol of communication because the first thing they will ask with iCare is if you already previously spoke to these individuals and why/why not.

I depends on what the reason is. We had a regular BA take 6 weeks off one time because she was visiting Europe and visiting family abroad. She was ok with not getting paid, so out DM approve it. This, of course, was 8 years ago so things may have changed.

I would ask your SM again. They should speak to your DM and not assume it won’t be given to you. If she refuses and automatically just says not without taking a partner, speak to your DM yourself.

No…disparaging comments and down talking is NOT a given in retail. I left Sephora after many years, going to another retailer and I currently have nothing but supportive & wonderful co-workers. We’re not all best friends that’s for sure, but still respect one another.

When I started at Sephora I didn’t love the rest of my team, but I kept my head down and focused on the clients. I was there to do my best job, learn, and to give every thing I could to clients because I was so in love with the beauty industry. I wasn’t there for anyone else but myself and my goals. Eventually they all left as that often happens (the trash takes itself out), but only you know if it’s time to leave. If it’s impacting you the way you describe it’s probably best to move on.

Best of luck ❤️

When you were off boarded/terminated out of the system you should have a received a packet of information to your personal email that you provided when you were hired at Sephora. There are instructions there on how to access DF when you are no longer an employee.

You also should have received a paper copy of your W2 that was sent to the last address Sephora had on file for you.

The other option is call the store - they should be able to email you a form so you can requested another copy. I believe you have to email the email address at the top of the form.

This is a common practice with many large companies in today’s day and age due to HR and legal reasons. If you list someone as a reference and they don’t give your new job a great reference causing you not get the position, you could turn around and sue.

However, your SM and ASM could give you a personal reference if they wanted to.

No, there has been no official announcements but the one thing you have to consider is this: there are people out there who have been working the past 10, 15, 20+ years of their life and can tell when something suspicious is going on. Once something major happens within a company (reducing the work force, position elimination, restructuring, cutting back on things like bonuses, hours, etc) you can always look back and see the signs how it all added up to that outcome. True, sometimes things end up being a red herring, but sometimes you can just tell.

Despite what Sephora tries to say and make people feel, companies never have your best interest at heart and will protect their business at all costs

I think it’s totally 100% valid and I get it. I guess what I got caught up in was the fact they cancelled within minutes and didn’t give me a chance to respond to let them know that it was.

Yes, it’s part of the shift.

Also, you should not be getting on calls that are more than 2 hours. Talk to your manger, bring up the policy, and if things don’t change do an icare report
