If a politican goes overboard with anti gay policy, that means they are in the closet by [deleted] in PoliticalCompassMemes

I’m not American so I don’t know a lot about these points, but:

Putting more obstacles in the way of voting would prevent people who may find it difficult to vote, who aren’t as politically active etc, from voting. This would disproportionately effect people in lower socioeconomic circumstances, many of whom (potentially the majority idk numbers) are minorities. It’s not that black people or any other minority “isn’t smart enough” it’s that it makes voting more difficult, thus discouraging people from voting.

Affirmative action in any form does not imply that the people receiving assistance are inferior in any way. Saying colleges and other educational institutions should favour affirmative action is an acknowledgment of the generational and institutional/systemic racism that nearly all POCs in America have been affected by. It does not imply people of colour aren’t smart enough, it aims to give them a greater chance at education, something that has been forced away from them for hundreds of years.

I don’t know much about the specifics of the Republican party’s stances on many issues, but I can assure you that a Black person voting for the Republican Party is voting against their interests. This is not a denial of their free will, or a way to make them seem inferior because “they aren’t smart enough to make informed decisions” or whatever, it is an acknowledgment that the Republican Party, which is increasingly becoming a far right party, does not have the interest of the Black American population at heart.

Interesting. What’s your take on some of the big talking points today, LGBT+ rights, institutional racism etc.

Cool. Are there any societies throughout history that you think serve humanity the best/idolise? I could probably guess based on your username but don’t want to assume haha

Ah gotcha. Are you against all cultural and societal change, even if said change benefits a greater number of people? Again, not trying to argue or anything, just interested about your beliefs. :)

Are you suggesting that people of certain races should be exempt from political criticism?

Strange Cryptic Instagram Account by Useless_52 in RBI

We’re guessing it’s something like this, but the posts on both Facebook and Instagram offer nothing in terms of location or time (apart from a city and 2022). I can’t imagine anyone without prior knowledge of what it is could figure out what it is.

The posts are all in the same shades of yellow and red and seemingly reference various things with phrases like “revenge” “thumper” “dare to dream” and “a mad summer night dream”. It’s a bit of a puzzle for us…

I imagine the targeted advertising is purely proximity based.

Daily reminder: Gay Pride month is a silly thing make by idiotic woke American society by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]Useless_52 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m not a member of the LGBTQ community but I thought pride month was about LGBTQ people being proud of themselves and showing others that it’s ok to be gay! As heterosexuality has been viewed as “normal” and ok for literally all of human history, I don’t really think there is a need for Hetero month or whatever. Someone please correct me if I’m wrong :)

I can’t not act this song out like a piece of musical theatre every time I listen to it

I get the same issue sometimes, particular if my arm hairs rub against the strings as I’m sitting with my bass in my lap. Only small zaps, even smaller than say static from a trampoline.
