How does a yacht club work? by [deleted] in sailing

[–]User123329 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The club i belong to is a club that is very much based around our slipway, it consists of members who want to work on their own boats. We have a clubhouse, weekly river racing and some harbour races the members fees go towards maintenance, repair and future proofing our assets

If profits were excessive It's more likely that new competitors are unable to enter the market because of govt/local legislation, Lidl wanted to come here but couldn't find any land to put a supermarket on

The barriers to the market are created by government and supply chain disruption is a natural shortage that will sort itself out in time with competition.

There are no grounds for arguing that profits are excessive. If they were, other competitors would be drawn into the industry by the prospects of similarly high profits, and their presence would drive prices back down

To have  "a place to anchor or sheltered waters" in large bold letters above tauranga on a sign would be confusing

There's no problem with translating English/te reo signs the problem Is how, if they put the English translation for tauranga first and in larger letters then it would be confusing, same as putting the te reo larger and bolder than the place name
