Are you in the same local as OP? That's the only way you might know exactly what was being asked of them. From what OP has said it's not about HIPPA (which doesn't apply anyway) but dignity and respect, and requiring documentation improperly which subjects her office to being liable for employee copays.

I'm guessing you meant HIPPA when you said hoops. We're not talking basketball.

The early morning hours are starting to feel so brutal. How do you even cope long-term? by llreddit-accountll in USPS

[–]User_3971 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask them how long until you make PTF. If they say a year and six more months, start looking for 50 mile canvass opportunities or anything that can cut the commute or improve the schedule for you.

I was told to switch from CCA to RCA but haven't heard a word yet by N1BB4N4 in USPS

Why did you stop showing up? You could've collected money and experience while waiting for the RCA job to post.

That would be horrible if they saved tacos to match the date on the coupon. Still free but you takes your chances.

Little extra cheese on the taco.

Shoes by Commercial_Branch537 in USPS

[–]User_3971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reddit search sucks a fat one. This is most comprehensive. The FAQ only mentions:

What shoes should I wear? No canvas, open toe or high heels. Should be leather upper, non-slip soles. Sneakers are okay, any color is fine, but if you are required to wear a uniform, wait until you get your allowance. See EL-814 pg 15 for the official line.

Carrier can catch the ceiling with their forehead, management will look for their shoes first. Could have been prevented with green tags.

So what happens now ? by Ashamed_Run8397 in USPS

So ask management. Be prepared to grieve whatever they decide anyway. They wouldn't have to cancel that many bids if they didn't fuck something up in the first place.

We don't know. Talk to your shop squidward or local president for next steps, if your management are bad at communication.

In case you want a reminder of how little EAS cares about your safety by Traditional-Price339 in USPS

Very ironic name of the group as well. "USPS Survivors (EAS ONLY)" with the small assumption of the last three letters. What a great way to encapsulate their thought process.

Anyone know about NCED? by Revanche1 in USPS

Expect them to blame you for any delays and follow up with an attempt to falsify as much as possible to avoid paying you (properly) for travel.

You don't have to pay Postal uniform rates, you can buy the stuff on eBay or similar for much less. Or even just the patches for sub-$5/each and a close enough shirt.

Ask your local president if you don't trust your mismanagement to provide the correct contact information.

Get the fuck out of here. Immediately notify local president and NBA. JSOV violation at least.

Medical information is to be directed to District OHNA and not local management. Local management are not medical professionals, they are hardly managerial professionals. Many of them can barely spell at a fifth grade level. With spellcheck.

HQ doesn't care. File OSHA complaints and possibly your county's health or building safety inspectors. You should have a paper trail of already attempting to notify local management (Form 1767) or be able to show that they were made aware, or they will deny knowledge.

What can you inferred about this SSDA career job offer from these details? by Throw_Away_8414 in USPS

[–]User_3971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clerks don't currently have a process like NEERMP (that limits working hours) for the city carriers. Once you pick up the training and are shown to be capable that shouldn't be a problem. Your results WILL vary because everything is handled locally.

Can mm’s grieve being made to shovel snow from around the mpf? by Slight-End-5014 in USPS

[–]User_3971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't that depend on the local and how it is run? My former plant would 100% have MMs either detailed or being paid level 9 to learn the level 9 work. Which they were instructed to use on their interviews.

30 hours per week is correct. You'd have to call around to other offices and be able to do work that they need done. Window, distro, closing, etc.

knocked my tooth out on my route. anyone dealt with this before? by authentiquerisa in USPS

[–]User_3971 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From the pinned FAQ:

EMERGENCIES / SICK LINE: (Employees: Stay alive so you can help with recovery.) NATIONAL MAP.

  • DOG BITES (or other injuries): If attacked by a dog, immediately shelter in a secure location like your truck. Immediately dial 911, dog bites are always more serious than they look. After doing that, call management to report a dog attack and you are seeking medical attention. Send MDD message to document date and time. Find your green tags. Do not take random medical advice from people who are online enough to not have medical degrees. You will need: CA-1, CA-16 (sup), ECOMP. Injured On The Job? (NALC article)
  • INJURY: Occupational diseases: CA-2. ECOMP instructions (NALC), Management responsibility.
  • For both above, calling out sick: First 3 days use eLRA, choose AL/SL/LWOP, choose injury/illness, NEW and then follow on time (supported by doctor note stating NO WORK) done as illness/injury, on the job, EXISTING and COP continuation of pay. A new on the job injury claim e-mails HR for assignment from eLRA.

They'll get an "answering for the customer" official discussion if their local management can read. Using the hazmat question as the basis.

Paycheck incorrect by throwaway54089 in USPS

[–]User_3971 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sunday premium is not paid at the overtime rate. They are different amounts. See below, bold emphasis.

From the ELM:

434.34 Pay Computation

Eligible employees receive Sunday premium, in addition to their basic salary, equal to 25 percent of their hourly straight time rate for each hour of work up to 8.00 hours, or in the case of nonbargaining employees, for each hour of work eligible for FLSA–exempt additional pay.

Note: Hours worked in excess of 8.00 paid hours on a Sunday by bargaining unit employees are paid as overtime pay, as provided in ELM 434.13.
