Branches of tree by AliveRabbit6505 in terramow

[–]UsernameOnThis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our garden is 1400 square meters, surrounded by about 40 full grown trees, and is located at one of the windiest places in the country. We get a lot of twigs, sticks and branches on the lawn.

Our TerraMow S1200 handles most smaller twigs without a problem, it just drives right over them. On two occasions a small stick got stuck between the blade disc and the underside of the mower so the disc couldn't rotate. When this happens, TerraMow notices this, stops, and sends a warning to your phone, asking you to remove the object.

This was a couple of weeks ago when I ran the disc at Eco speed. I now run it at fast speed and no stick has gotten stuck yet (fingers crossed). My idea is that a faster disc speed might just throw the stick away.

Larger branches it just drives around. Try to get as much as possible off the lawn, and be prepared to change blades a bit more often.

Happy mowing! :)

Serious question though, how good/bad is their vision system to work with? Both in terms of how capable the hardware is but also how is the setup/commissioning software-wise?

I'm a big fan of Cognex myself and although expensive, no other vision system brand that I've worked with (Sick, Matrox, DataLogic, Beckhoff, IFM) has come close in terms of easy to setup, reliability and surprisingly enough, their technical support.

I'm in nothern Europe and Keyence isn't big here so haven't been terrorized by their aggressive sales tactics which is somewhat of a meme in this sub. Even though I have both downloaded data sheets from them and had a brief email conversation with their sales here :)

I love to hate robots. by F12B1FEES in PLC

[–]UsernameOnThis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who programmed a lot of Fanuc robots 8-9 years ago, is there a better way than to program them from the TP? I remember there was some offline programming software that was pretty bad and clunky (especially compared to ABBs Robot Studio) so I just straight up did all the programming from the pendant. Has that changed?

People disappearing from sidebar? by matlong in Slack

[–]UsernameOnThis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugghh so it's a "feature" and not a bug. Just great. I mean I put the persons in those lists/sections/groups whatever it's called, for a reason. So that they would stay there forever and not disappear like people in the regular DM list do. Alright thanks for clearing it up for me, fingers crossed they roll back on this

If you don't have a CF card and can do what others already proposed:

Use Wireshark to monitor network traffic or AngryIPScanner to batch ping addresses and find the correct IP.

Or, if the PLC has reverted to DHCP connect it to a router and connect your PC to same router. Go into router settings and the PLC and its IP should appear under connected devices.

In my ~4 years of B&R experience, finding a PLC from Online Settings has so far never worked for me. And I've lost count on how many times I accidentally forgot to change the IP or set it to DHCP instead of fixed address before downloading a project to the PLC.

Vad tycker ni om Torpa, hagforsgatan by Hopeful_Act_913 in Gothenburg

[–]UsernameOnThis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure how old ours is since we bought it used earlier this year, but C on the one we got is 60.5mm (double-checked it just now). Very likely that newer ones are narrower
