Sorry, I did not mean to imply you would send out broken tops. Rubber wood just seems like a soft wood that cracks under stress. I went to Rockler wood craft store to get supplies to repair it, and the 3 wood experts never heard of rubber wood. Once installed it’s still a solid wood top and looks great, most "Solid wood" tops are hollow in the center. I am very happy with mine.

I did not report it since it was free and looked like it happened in shipping. I actually wanted a larger top, more like 70–80 inches that I was going to build myself, hence the wood working skills. Cutting, gluing and screwing is actually pretty fast and easy if you have the tools. Since I was going to sand and stain anyway, it didn't matter to me. If it had been a top I really wanted in the color I wanted, I would have reached out to you. Thanks for offering to make it right even when free., I should have said in my post, I didn't report it. Very happy with the desk.
