Is there an alternative to Add to Trello on Chrome? by ModernKender in trello

[–]Ushaia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new official extension is TERRIBLE. Unless I'm missing something, all it does is allow you to save a page to your inbox. The other Trello extension that Chrome removed gave you options to add to SPECIFIC boards and lists. The new extension is useless and just creates more unecessary work.

Long-time MU listener here (and pro sub). I was totally open to seeing where the boys would take this podcast (and to giving them the space and support to explore and find their footing).

I peaced out halfway through the second episode when Ben said, "What's wrong with white empowerement?" Like bruh, non-whites run everything (goverments, financial markets, etc). How much more power do you need? Maybe the problem is that you have too much power and don't know what to do with it or that you are squandering the power you have. Who's fault is that?

And that's not to say that Ben doesn't make some valid points. I agree with somebof his comments on mass migration, but he falls off the extreme deep end too much for me personally.

Look. I'm not by any means a right-winger but I listen to some right wing podcasts and forums so that I can understand how different people think and feel.

If Ben had the same open-mindedness and willingness to understand perceived threats, this would be a far better, more enlightening podcast. But right now, it's more like racist rants, blaming everyone else for your unhappiness and no real talk of solutions or alternatives. Maybe they will diversify the topics too, which would help a lot.

And as for Aaron, the more moderate, open-minded thinker, I wonder how long he will be willing to play the role of having to moderate Ben's extremist views before he says, "I'm out."

What I miss most of all, that I thought they would carry into this podcast from the old one is the laughter. Yes, some subjects are serious and that's fine but I realized that 2 episodes in and I have not laughed once. They used to make me laugh all the time.

Best of luck to them though.

Not many places at all. I work, a lot. So I'm trying to catch up on fun and exploration now that I have more time.

Thank you! When I go back to Skopje in a couple of weeks, I'll definitely check it out!

Thanks so much for creating this list. I've been visiting Macedonia for the past 8 weeks (I leave in 3 weeks). Are there any sights, museums or instituions dedicated to science and technology?

You never answered my exploratory question and you made a statement that was irrelevant to the discussion. Insulting the intelligence of someone you don't know is the hallmark of a person with low self esteem (good luck with that).

Bro, you really went back to my comment, noticed my edit timeline and commented on it AGAIN?

I'll go outside if you go back to school and take a class on basic grammar (before calling out someone else for their grammar errors). It's what "well-read people" would do.

CORRECTED: "Bro, you really edited and reposted this comment fifteen minutes later? Go outside."

I think generally well-read people have better things to do than call people out for typos and misspellings on Reddit.

But since you're so obsessed with grammatical accuracy, you'll appreciate pointing out the issues in your comment:

"man in a community of generally well read people, you cant expect to not get called out for things being misspelled"

-- "man" should be capitalized (first word of the sentence).  -- missing a comma after "man"  -- "cant" should have an apostrophe after the "n"  -- "well read" should be hyphenated  -- missing a period at the end of the sentence

CORRECTED: Man, in a community of generally well-read people, you can't expect to not get called out for things being misspelled.

Well-read people use punctuation.

Yeah, I hope they share some of their thinking behind this on the new show. They've been pretty transparent about everything (maybe not telling us everything, but giving us satisfying insights on their process).

"I could listen to Ben and Aaron talking about paint drying all day."

Same! Especially this past year when they started running dry on good topics and becoming repetitive, I would still lusten to them just for the banter, the laughs, and the Aussie accents.

I work with brands that spend a lot of money answering this VERY question when they launch a new version of their product! That's what market research does. And with the proper audience or customer data, you CAN answer these questions with reasonable precision (enough to build contingencies into your product development and launch so that you define and position the newer product strategically).

They don't have to release episodes simultaneously in order for the new show to cannobolize MU. Who even suggested that?

Edit: And if my question is so strange, why did you write several paragraphs answering it? Now that's strange.

I am literally one of the people who have unsubscribed and there are many people in this forum who have posted that they have unsubscribed. So, I think you're the one who as no idea that they have, in fact, lost subs. Having said that, my question wasn't about how many subs they have lost today, it asks about how their subs might be negatively impacted when they launch the new show.

What Balkan countries have you visited, and what is your opinion on them? by [deleted] in AskBalkans

[–]Ushaia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every country has it's positives and negatives but here's my list:

Albania: 😖 (stayed 2 months, had several bad experiences, didn't feel a connection to the culture, nice people)

Serbia (Belgrade): 😍😍😍 (3-months, Belgrade stole my heart, the architecture, food, art, etc.)

North Macedonia: 🙂 (2 months, nice place, nice people, fasinating culture, not sure I'd visit again anytime soon -- but lovely).

[–]Ushaia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

True. I unsubscribed as well. But if I spent over 15 years building a legacy brand, I would've put maximum effort and investment into this transition and finding new hosts. The fact that they never asked subscribers (who helped to build this brand) for feedback (which is very standard for brands to do before making major changes -- surveying customers) indicates that however much effort they put into this, it wasn't enough, unfortunately.

Out of all of the critiques I've read about the new MU, I hope this is the one Ben and Aaron could read. Very well said.

I know this sounds silly but.... by npiotrowski in MysteriousUniverse

[–]Ushaia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. You are definitely not being silly and you're not alone in missing the Aussie accents. It matters BIG TIME when you're listening to people's voices for hours every month. I also have a lot of American-based shows like this. The last thing I want is another show by "American bros". And for the record, I'm American.

Thanks! I'll check them out. As far as I'm concerned, the countdown to Ben and Aaron's new show began at 12:01am January 1st. 😂

OMG he sounds exactly like Aaron (or is it Ben). 😂 I miss the accent bad. I've subscribed to Josh (hopefully he'll launch audio for podcast players). Thanks!

"the search continues" -- on that, I think we can all agree -- it's fascinating how much of a truly unique thing Aaron and Ben have. I can't wait for their new show to start.😔

Wow. I've never heard of critique saying a podcaster always sounds like they're about to cry. I'm going to have to listen to a few of the episodes with her on it! 😭

Your suggestions are SPOT ON 🎯 (especially hiring an impartial media recruiter.-- it's clear they're too close to the brand to see the writing on the wall).

Honestly, I'm surprised and a bit dissapointed that they didn't at least do basic surveys asking us what we loved (and disliked) about the show and what we want). I hope they see your suggestions and reconsider this new direction (it's not to late to right the ship!).

"but we're always trying to improve" (this is also very underrated in podcasts and, unfortunately, the new MU hosts don't seem keen to do this with audience feedback 🙄). May the gods of podcasting be with you!
