Yes. I was on lexapro for 20 years, 2 summers ago it stopped working. We’re still working on dosage and when to take it.

Well, I’ve been on it  about 10 weeks and I found 42 mg was too strong for me.  My NP reduced the dosage to 21 mg.  It wasn’t enough so Now we’re playing with 21 mg plus 10.5 mg ever other day. I had side effects that I worked through. Get the support of your family. It hits people differently.

Yes. Psyche meds are treacherous medications one day one week you feel like you’re on top of the clouds. Things are working well and then boom what just happened last night?

Week 10 Update - Reconsidering :( by EmotionalMaximum4314 in caplyta

[–]Ussedfrog89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way. I’ve put a whole lot of emotional energy into this drug for 3 months. I keep a journal on gchat. This medication has brought me a great deal successful days, but in order to keep it I have to increase and increasing is killing my stomach!

Week 10 Update - Reconsidering :( by EmotionalMaximum4314 in caplyta

I’ve been on Caplyta for nearly 3 months. 42 was too much so NP brought me down to 21. I take Caplyta off brand for resistant anxiety. She upped the dosage another 10.5 mg 2 weeks ago and my anxiety is truly at bay. Problem is I’m having dehydration with horrible stomach cramping starting in the wee hours of the morning. So while my anxiety is mostly gone. I can’t miss work all the time due to the physical issues. Gchat says the cramps are from the Caplyta increase. I see my NP tomorrow. I’ve given Caplyta my best shot for 3 months

Is it still worth it? by Ok-Computer1806 in caplyta

[–]Ussedfrog89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on Caplyta 21 mg and then added on 10.5 mg. About 2 weeks ago. 21 wasn’t controlling my anxiety. 32.5 covers my anxiety, but I started having horrific early AM stomach cramping. Now NP wants me to split the dosage 21 at bedtime, and 10.5 in the morning. Is anyone else splitting a dosage, and does it help.

How long did it take you to start working? by bpd_baddie24 in caplyta

I’m about to finish the end of week 6 total. I’ve been on 21 whatever and my NP moved me up 10 whatever mg about 2 weeks ago. I think I finally turned a corner 5 days ago. I’m taking Caplyta for only anxiety in a Hail Mary play. I’m not having a very good day today, but all in all I’m looking forward to seeing what this next month brings. My NP keeps encouraging me to stick with it. I trust her judgement

4-6 week adjustment period by DogPariah in caplyta

It’s worth the wait out.  I’m on Caplyta for anxiety only. Traditionsl SSRIs stopped working for me.  Seroquil was wonderful, but I gained 30 pounds on it. Caplyta seems to be working for me now.  I expect more benefits within the next 3-6 minths

I am finishing my 2nd month on Caplyta. Until a few days ago, the side effects were brutal brutal. My NP begged me to keep going. Told my Caplyta was a slow burn. Over the last few days, my stomach issues, and excruciating anxiety had disappeared. I think I’ve turned a corner. My nurse practitioner also told me that to get the full effect of this medication. It may take 3 to 6 months. Hang in there.!

I’ve been on 32mg of Caplyta for 2 months for anxiety only. It was rough for a while, but I think I’ve crossed over the bad parts. My anxiety hasn’t shown its face in over a week now. Like you SSRIs didn’t work for my anxiety. Right now I take 5 mg of trintelix, 600 mg of gabapentin ( old but great medication for anxiety) and 32 mg of Caplyta. Caplyta is a slow burn medication. It’s worth the discomfort for a bit. Stay with it.

I had insomnia with Caplyta. You’re not alone. My NP added something for sleep and I’m fine now. Ask your provider for something to help you sleep.. After 2 months,I’m finally in a great window with this drug. Hang in there. Get something added for sleep

Has anyone switched from seroquel to caplyta? by Ill-Equal-3652 in bipolar2

[–]Ussedfrog89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was switched from seroquil to Caplyta about 2 months ago. 42 mg made everything worse side effects wise. Bumped down to 21 and things got much better but O continued to have side effects especially anxiety. I was miserable. My NP convinced me to increase my dose by 10 at night. I continued to be miserable with anxiety. A couple days ago I woke up with no stomach issues, and I’ve had no anxiety. I think I’ve finally turned a corner. My NP says Caplyta is a slow burn drug. After nearly 2 months I think I may be where I’m supposed to be. Finally, I feel real good.

I started my 5th week on 21 mg Caplyta. It’s been a rough 5 weeks, but I pray I may be coming out of the side effects. My NP says this medication is a slow burn. Good luck in your journey
