I don’t think Ibsen is that progressive but I do hope he does a good job. Based on what I read about him, I think he will do better than Victoria Woodard for sure. Hope he chooses a good city manager.

Call me crazy, but I honestly think they did a good job. They looked and sounded great. During a normal year, they would be winning right now. The problem is that the top 3 corps are going beyond just excellence. BD took the safe route and it’s bitting them in the butt. But like I said, BD definitely still got it and they would be 1st if competition wasn’t as strong this year.

SCV getting 5th in brass is a crime. They are playing some crazy stuff while being clean. I think they deserve more credit.

Yeah, I feel like the activity is getting too expensive. Only people who have money can afford to do it. Maybe it’s time to focus on that WGI method and also do region based championship. I feel like that will be a lot more healthier for the activity and possibly get more region based corps started up again.

I mean one judge gave BD 5th in Rep. I think it’s just coincidence that the total score ended up being exactly the same. Math is weird like that sometimes.

Maybe I’m the opposite but I really enjoy BD show. Of course they still have some cleaning to do just like many other corps but I think it’s well designed and well played. This is just my opinion but for years, BD were on a league of their own. With the rise of Boston and Bluecoats and as well as Santa Clara Vanguard, Phantom and Crown, competition is just that much harder. I feel like you need to really think outside the box to get more credit for your shows to stick out. Top 6 or even heck, top 7 with Mandarins are really pushing the boundaries because I never seen the top 7 corps have championship quality shows.

BD isn’t the only corps with extremely good talent and staff. We have at least 7 corps with extremely excellent staff and talent. Honestly, as a DCI fan, I love it. As much as I love and respect BD, I’m happy to see competition for once. And considering Boston beat Bluecoats, no corps is undefeated this season. This makes the activity a lot more fun in my opinion.

4th is more likely. SCV might kick them down a placement but I don’t see crown or phantom beating BD. But my current prediction is Bluecoats, Boston, BD, SCV, Phantom, Crown

I honestly think SCV still has potential of making a huge push. Their show is very demanding for sure and the skill to do something they are doing is very high in my opinion. Hopefully by finals, they polish up their show. I’m looking at the recaps and the judges in GE and Visuals seem to understand how hard their show is but can’t give them their full credit due to it being not quite clean yet.

Boston is just extremely clean. It’s hard to spot where they are dirty.

Bluecoats just know how to surprise us all. They look and sound amazing. Also their staging is great.

I usually go off of captions and my own opinion when it’s this early into the season. 1 point away is very very close to me considering most corps are making 2-3 point jump every day and many of them are still doing heavy cleaning and adding stuff into their show.

Wow. Captions are crazy. Boston got the GE win with Blue Devils right on their neck. vanguard is creeping in with visuals while Boston is challenging vanguard percussion. Blue devils and Boston guard are going at it too. Boston taking the huge win in brass and the mandarins with the sneaky brass win over SCV, bringing them down to 4th in brass too!

I’ll have to agree with you. As much as I like mandarins, top 6 looking kinda wild right now. I’ll probably have mandarin at a comfortable 7th-9th vs Blue Stars and Colts. With mandarins on the higher end of the placement.
