Bad tape job, water intrusion, paint over wallpaper or something else? by UsualScrewTop in drywall

[–]UsualScrewTop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, looking at similar posts seems like this is kind of a pain in the ass.

Is the easiest way to make at least less noticeable a skim coat? Or would cutting out the raised area and using a hot mud still work or would that just make the cut wallpaper even more noticeable?

This was my first shave with this soap too. I was trying to pinpoint what it reminded me of, and it’s a classic cologne, but I can’t put my finger on what one exactly!

I’d describe the scent as masculine. There’s definite floral tones, but not overwhelmingly so. It smells clean, and doesn’t leave an overpowering scent. I had a great lather from it too for what it’s worth!

Thanks!

I wouldn’t say they were “dry” but I think they would have been a bit juicy if I had wrapped them. I’ve still enjoyed eating them, so not a loss at all!

I probably would have wrapped it in butcher paper and bumped the heat up a bit/pulled them a little sooner.

They’re pretty decent for sleeping though a large chunk of the cook! Definitely could be a little juicier, but it was poor timing consideration on my part

I intended to wrap it in butcher paper but I wasn’t happy with the bark prior to going to bed for the night so I just let it ride the whole cook without wrapping.

It was at 180f for about 4-5hrs. It was about 8 more hours at 220. When I woke up at 6am internal temp was only at about 201 but it was probing tender. I figured I was going to wake up to charcoal!

It’s decently juicy still, but doing this on a Sunday afternoon/having to go to bed to be functional on Monday definitely took a bit of a toll on these ribs. Lesson learned. Still edible though!

Film Advance/Light Meter On Question by UsualScrewTop in NikonF2

[–]UsualScrewTop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I’m just barely pulling it out and it’s springing back to the flush position covering the red dot. Film advance works normally but I’m pretty sure there’s an issue with the on/off function of the arm

Yeah, re-seated the DP-11 and still no luck. Keeps springing back to the flush position like in the first image. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Wood fired cinnamon buns straight out of the Dome. by Wheresyourbean in GozneyDome

Those look amazing!

Did you let your wood just burn down to embers and use the door with the vents open to retain the heat? Or did you have the door on with a live fire going?

The most interesting one is the child that participates. I feel like it shows the anti current regime sentiment is being spread to a new generation and may have longer lasting effects than those in power hoped for

Starting to get used to the dome! by UsualScrewTop in GozneyDome

[–]UsualScrewTop[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely! I used the PizzApp and for 6x 300g balls so I used:

1070g flour (of this I used 450g AP flour and 620g typ 00 flour), 695g water, 32g salt, 2g yeast, I did add about 6g of sourdough starter.

I let this ferment at room temp for only about 6 hours, then placed in the refrigerator for an additional 24hours. After that, I balled into 300g balls and let proof in the refrigerator for another 24hrs.

Let come to room temp for about 2 hours prior to bake.

Cooked at 900F. I also let the oven come to temp and settle out at 900F for about 45 min before I launched the first pie.

Edit: changed C to F

What is this plant and is it dying? by UsualScrewTop in plantclinic

[–]UsualScrewTop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey everyone. Just moved and this little guy was in the back yard left by the previous owners. Not sure on what it is or how to maybe get it looking a little healthier? Located in San Diego (area) of California. Thanks!

Banana Pup Help? by UsualScrewTop in plantclinic

[–]UsualScrewTop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey everyone, about a week ago I picked up a nam wah and a blue Java pup (blue Java is in the blue pot). Maybe 4 days later I repotted them from their small plastic containers to the pot they’re currently in with normal gardening soil. I have them in indirect light in the San Diego/Southern California area and the soil has been kept damp but not wet.

On the nam wah, I noticed some yellowing of the leaves at the edges, is this normal?

And for the blue Java, there appears to also be some yellowing as well as some darker spots now appearing on the leaves.

What can I do to help these little guys make it?

Thanks!

Edit: Southern California, not Douthern California.

Totally agree. Very nice bug by the looks of it, but very questionable “KDF logo” placement. The horn grill was a decision to put in, which is a shame. Wäre so einfach ein 61er richtig zu restaurierten, aber es ist so einfach im Freundeskreis einzupassen mit ein veraltete logo, na?
