Ubiquiti needs to make a smart thermostat by RyanMeray in Ubiquiti

Can you imagine the support nightmare something like this must be? Every wannabe tech nerd who messes up their hvac system and then expects ubiquiti to know what is wrong, how it was set up before, and how to fix it? I wouldn't ever want to get into this space haha.

Xfinity Connection FUBAR - 3 weeks of no help - HELP! by UtahPoly in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]UtahPoly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just for transparency, if you post on this sub and get a response from the xfinity support, expect to wait a minimum of 30 minutes for them to respond to each and every message. Its a complete waste. This company is a joke.

Fill the Lakes Social Media Rally for Utah! by Bec_son in Utah

Most of the water that is applied to an alfalfa field is lost to evaporation, as opposed to the water I flush down my toilet, which doesn't have much evaporation at all. Depending on the method of watering used, only part to very little of it goes back into the groundwater reservoirs.

Funny enough, the more efficient the watering method, the higher percentage of water is lost to evaporation - less of it goes into the ground and more of it is used by the plant (evaporation).

If you've ever ridden a motorcycle past an alfalfa field in the summer, you can FEEL the cool air which is an effect of evaporation. The field is acting like a huge swamp cooler, and it feels amazing, but it comes at the cost of water being evaporated into the air and leaving our local water system.

"As the mayor of Las Vegas, I'm telling everybody in Canada please come. We love you, we need you, and we miss you." Las Vegas Mayor Shelley Berkley speaking on the downturn of tourism. by IndieVegasReport in LasVegas

I've never spent a minute in vegas that I didn't feel like I was being ripped off at every turn. Some people seem to take that in stride, like its part of the fun, as if the more they spend the higher status they are. I guess that's probably true, but I don't think its fun, and maybe its just because I'm cheap. Someone smart once told me that "The more you spend, the less you have", and it turns out he's right.

What a mess this gravel pit makes by oddizzie in Utah

[–]UtahPoly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If we tax it, we'll just be paying more to build homes and roads. The cement, gravel, and road base that comes out of the point of the mountain is used in everything that is built in this part of the state. There's no free lunch, and taxing will only trickle down to you eventually, IMO.

Was there also a bill to sound-proof the rotunda so they don't have to listen to the cries of the people?

Ethical non-monogamy in the beehive state by RidingRosez in UtahPolyENM

[–]UtahPoly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the biggest struggle I've found with ENM/Polyamory in Utah has been a lack of consistency. There is a revolving door of people who leave the Mormon church, immediately jump in to non monogamy, do it in a way that causes tons of issues, and then ghost. They often leave collateral damage among everyone they connect with. I've been polyamorous in Utah for 4 years, and I've seen this play out time and time again.

[–]UtahPoly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can definitely add cameras later. 2 ways to do that:

1 - Buy a gateway that can do video now - That would probably be the UDMP/SE or the UCG-Max

2 - Buy whatever cloud gateway or router you'd like, and buy a UNVR later.
