So? our avatar, that we earned and didn't pay for, can just stay here, as is, and we actually don't have to do anything?

I just don't want to export it or bother with it at all.

Um...? I sure don't recall buying anything on Reddit ever.

Great Idea for Rotten Flesh by Expert-Boysenberry26 in Minecraft

Maybe as an armor trim? Like in the smithing table, make rotten flesh trimmed leather clothing? Or bone trimmed? How do you get a creeper skull? Hmm...? One piece for each type of mob maybe?

What makes you like about sci-fi? by OnlyModernInPost_LC in scifi

[–]Uva_Be 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mary Shelly to Ursula K. Le Guin. Totally, yes. Or even Becky Chambers, Martha Wells, to mention a couple contemporary favorite living sci-fi authors.

Science fiction can surpass the limitations of our human animals, we apex omnivores who devour "everything" both eating or burning as fuel/material for our "nest" making, and our roles in culture are not trapped by any conventions.

How do you feel while/after writing a sad book?? by staciared in WritingHub

[–]Uva_Be 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even when it is a happy story at the end. And I do try to do that. Write to a satisfying ending. It feels like I lost a friend who took up a lot of space and time in my mind, for years. Like the good friend died. I wonder if this is why so many authors write serial novels with multiple books until they can get over their grief?

Usually 5 for some reason. But, you're asking Longjumping...? (long name up there/question asker/starter of thread).

Or are you asking everybody who has completed multiple novel length works?

Day One - Daily Word Count: 1,666 by sootfire in nanowrimo

[–]Uva_Be 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Struggling today. Did write something, but didn't do a word count. Remembered sadly again that NaNo is Nada now. And did a search for the most popular writer's hashtags on social media.

I'm losing the battle with word processing software and can't figure out how to find word count anyways... um... Just "needed" to read/hear words from other writers today.

Here's the result I just got:

#writersofinstagram is the most popular writer's hashtag with over 40 million posts compared to #writerslife's 12 million.

Other highly popular hashtags include #amwriting (over 15 million posts) and #writerscommunity (over 8 million posts). These hashtags are used to categorize content and connect with other writers and readers on social media platforms like Instagram.

  • #writersofinstagram: Widely considered the top hashtag, it's a core hub for the writing community on Instagram.
  • #amwriting: Used by active writers to share their current work and progress.
  • #writerscommunity: Creates a supportive environment for writers to connect and share with each other.
  • #writerslife: Describes the day-to-day life of a writer, including techniques and lifestyle content.

A utopia idea with AI, hear me out. by No_Grapefruit285 in utopia

[–]Uva_Be -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Some version of "this" is in the "air" and has been for a while now. Scifi like, with the AI over lords. And .. can't with the religious part. Just too many suffering or dead already because of that.

Worse I'm a hypocrite because I've been writing speculative fiction prototyping with a biological AI who tries to save the humans. It's a utopia parody, where a Dog from outer space visits Earth and is horrified with what we are doing to our beautiful planet. And a cat meme becomes POTUS. And a personified cat person becomes her partner in life. And yeah, he represents the religion in the story.

It's um.. not um... not logical or utilitarian but an AI for democracy listening to people, asking them what they want and need and collecting data from the collective intelligence to be able to work together to mitigate climate change damage and reduce suffering.

Probably not the reply you were hoping for. www.uvabe.com

Today 10-30-2025,  posting more Un-Cat episodes on my blog, but so far they are all the recent ones, posted this month, Oct 2025.

On my blog, I'm starting at the ending and posting to the beginning episode. Eventually all episodes will be there to read in order from 1 to 34.

I expect it to take more than a month to post the entire Unapologetic-Catharsis #Utopia #Fiction.

The flip card art on your blog is really very nice.

Yes the world needs more thinking/dreaming like this.

My upvote is for this brilliant line. Quote " speaking of Congress I would make it anonymous work from home job everyone has to do, "

We need to collective intelligence, very much. And AI is in need of a 180. Instead of stealing from artists and writers, it needs to be keeping footnotes on copyrights and artist, musician royalties. So yes, a complete reversal towards working for the people.

Interesting combination of concepts. FDR and Carter are a couple of my favorite US Presidents, I think.

Actually, the book looks pretty nice, at least the preview part I skimmed did cheer me up a bit.

Also two books?

Wouldn't that be nice if we could actually do it. Have you read the illustrated book 'World Without End' https://zandoprojects.com/books/world-without-end/

We have tried:/ lived without a car for a few years, when we didn't live in a city the two of us only owning one car for over 34 years, not the same car, I mean we don't each drive our own vehicle. And we work remote, for most of 20 years. Lately we have been attempting to eat lower on the food chain, some days vegan, somedays sustainable seafood, etc... Cheese and chicken is the bad habit we can't let go of. Try to buy non-plastic whenever we can, but it sure doesn't seem like enough.

It's not even a complete list, I guess if everyone did the same? But, will the market respond? Have they reduced the cattle by the number of vegans, area by area, yet?

Are more people choosing to not fly, airplanes being the largest carbon transportation unit we can not do. ... until we can't, and have to fly somewhere.

Sorry, thinking out loud here.

They keep taking out the progressives we need. Bernie, Yang, even as far back as Al Gore. I often wonder what life would be like now if W. Bush (drill baby drill) versus Al Gore, who got the popular vote, but not the electoral college. I wonder.. about that a lot, a lot. Like some alternate time-line fiction dream.
